Thrilled to announce the publication of our latest research in the Journal of Innovation and Knowledge! This study explores the transformative role of shared leadership in driving team innovation within construction projects. By investigating knowledge-sharing density as a mediator and team open-mindedness norms as a moderator, our findings highlight how leadership and collaborative knowledge-sharing can unlock innovation and improve project performance. Using a mixed-methods approach with multi-wave and multi-source field data, this research provides valuable insights for enhancing teamwork and leadership strategies in the construction sector. Grateful for the support of my mentors and collaborators on this journey! Here is the link to the publication. Have a read!!

At Constructivist, we believe that there is a gap in the way that many engineers have been taught, and that is in divergent thinking. We spend a great deal of time learning to analyse and optimise, but we have to have the ideas in the first place. As the climate crisis tightens its grip and our economy becomes increasingly volatile, the way we deliver projects in the next five years is going to look very different from the way we have done in the past. That means that old thinking may no-longer be serving us. We will need some new ideas. 🌟 As a senior leader, empower your team to lead this change with our ‘How to Have Ideas’ workshop, led by award-winning trainer Oliver Broadbent. This interactive session equips your team with practical techniques to enhance idea generation and creative thinking. Discover how our workshop can transform their approach to creative thinking and help your organisation stay ahead in a rapidly evolving world. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/erEjqGC3 #Leadership #CreativeThinking #Innovation #Engineering #TeamDevelopment #IdeaGeneration #Constructivist #OliverBroadbent #ProfessionalDevelopment #Workshop

The Roman Empire's engineering prowess resulted in numerous structural marvels, many of which are still standing. Legend has it that once a large structure was completed, the project's senior engineer were required to stand underneath its arches as the support scaffolding was removed. The intent was to hold the engineers accountable in a way that could result in their death, should their structures prove to be incapable of standing upright on their own. To say that these builders were highly motivated to ensure the structural integrity of their projects is an obvious understatement! The Roman Empire's legacy of creating magnificent structures remains admired by modern architects and engineers. 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐲 Leaders are busy and rightfully focus their efforts on leading their teams in the pursuit of accomplishing current goals and objectives. Wise leaders ensure their teammates are set up for success not only during their tenure, but also after they exit the organization. They take the time to cultivate and develop other leaders who will not only add value to "today's company," but that of the future, too! Now is the time for reflection upon the question: "𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲?" Will it be like that of the majority of leaders who allow themselves to become so consumed by Tactical Issues that they never take the time to create and execute a Strategic Plan that will develop a strong, capable leadership team that can span their organization's "today and tomorrow?" When your career is over, will you be willing to "Stand Under" what you've built regarding your Leadership Legacy? 𝐌𝐲 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐲 On my website, there's a page titled "My Purpose" that contains this quote: "𝐓𝐨 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝... - 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 - 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐚 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞 - 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐚 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 - 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤.” Variations of this quote have been attributed to various individuals such as Pythagoras, Picasso, Jose Marti, and the Talmud. I love this quote and I have modified it for personal use by adding an additional bullet point: - 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬. I'm now 68 years old, and my sole purpose is to pass on the leadership lessons I’ve learned on the battlefield and in the boardroom to those who will lead others long after my time on this earth has passed. On the back of my business card is a quote from a prominent Greek statesman: "𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀." - 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀, 𝟰𝟱𝟬 𝗕𝗖 I will leave behind exceptional leaders! You? #FidelisLeadership #Leadership #Marines #MikeEttore
