Envision Bend just submitted the City of Bend sponsorship proposal to support the 13 Neighborhood Districts in Bend to increase civic engagement and belonging. If you have event ideas, there is still a few days to submit a proposal before Sept. 30th! The application form is short and simple, I'll copy the link below. What we have heard from the Neighborhood District Boards we have spoken with thus far is that board transition planning, board recruitment, coordinating the annual survey, and hosting the member meeting has been a challenge alone, much less hosting additional neighborhood gatherings. Our proposal is geared to support board development, offer survey/technical support, and co-host 4 large community events by quadrant of the city (think park bbq's with games/activities/entertainment/raffles/pie eating contest anyone??). We are excited about this opportunity to increase neighborhood connections and therefore neighborhood resilience (which is a key strategy in the vision plan). Fingers Crossed!!! For those not connected to the Neighborhood Districts (previously called associations), there was a change in the funding model this year. Budgets were cut and dollars pooled for any district/+ that want to do events and programs can now apply for these additional resources. That pool is called the Sponsorship Request, and the deadline for the year is quickly approaching on Sept 30th. Spread the word and reach out if I can support or partner in any way! https://lnkd.in/gHRgVTEP

📣 When seeking corporate sponsors for your charter school, it's essential to ask the right questions to ensure a successful partnership. Here are some key questions to guide your process: 1️⃣ Review Past Sponsors: Who has supported your school in the past? Consider how you can offer similar benefits and value to potential sponsors. 2️⃣ Look at Other Schools: Which companies are sponsoring other charter schools? At what level, and what benefits do they receive? Learning from others can give you a competitive edge. 3️⃣ Consider Current Partners: Think about your existing partners—your facility, bank, food service, operations, HR, and virtual learning providers. How do their values align with your school's mission, and how can they support your cause? 4️⃣ Explore Your Community: Identify local companies and community staples. Could they become valuable sponsors? Local support can strengthen community ties. 5️⃣ Engage Your Board: Leverage your board members' networks. Where do they work? Who are their partners and vendors? Their connections could open doors to potential sponsorship opportunities. Have any additional tips or questions? Share them in the comments! 💬👇🏾

I know many of you in my community are leaders of business, community, or Not-For-Profit organizations. At some point, you will be asked to sponsor an event or be trying to generate sponsorship funding. My friend Brent Barootes wrote a post yesterday about the importance of forming genuine relationships deeper than just engaging potential partners in golf games, dinners, salmon fishing, plays, trips or other events. The thoughtful post offers tips for anyone building business or community relationships. https://rb.gy/ykxec1

CEO at Swell Fundraising, Helping nonprofits host effective events (in-person, hybrid or virtual) and online fundraising campaigns
Today - hardworking nonprofits joined Pamela Grow (she/her/hers) and me for "Motivate Monday". The topic: Corporate Sponsorships!! We covered a lot in our 30 minutes but at its core were the following: (1) Listen, (2) Communicate Well (i.e. use dedicated event software to help you look great to your sponsors), (3) Recognize the importance of everyone at the company, (4) Do not misuse logos, (5) Invest in your Event, Your Brand and Yourself, and (6) Recognize the corporate sponsor needs, where your strengths align with their needs and the resulting opportunity to solve big problems together. Cheers to 2024 sponsorship packages that stand out!
