These messages make my day!! This was a fantastic #veterinary client who had an upcoming interview she was worried about. She used our interview prep coaching and booked in quickly. In our time together, we workshopped the questions she was worried about, talked about her interview key strategy, and how to tell her story. So often as veterinary applicants have the skills to perform the job, but we’re not amazing at talking about it- sometimes because it’s so intrinsic to how we operate we don’t even know we’re demonstrating the key skills, and sometimes because we think that’s how everybody operates. And almost always because it feels uncomfortable to talk ourselves up. Don’t let the interview be the thing that holds you back from landing your ideal job and having the confidence to walk in prepared. https://lnkd.in/gFZwrS2g

Interview No-Shows. Ugh! Can you believe that the percentage reported by Indeed is between 20 and 50%? Of course, if a candidate gets another offer, that's a good reason. So is some type of family or emergency conflict. But of course, those should be explained ASAP by the candidate. Have you set your interview at a reasonable time? Did the candidate confirm their availability? Do you know where they are in their search, with an impending offer, for example? Do you know where your role ranks in their own priority list? Have to sent an update shortly before the planned time? What are your experiences with No-Shows? #interviewnoshows #noshows #schedulinginterviews #candidatenoshows #candidateghosting #ghosting #hiringmanager #talentprofessional #animalhealth #pethealth #livestock #veterinarymedicine #recruiter #brakkesearch #brakkeconsulting.

In-person shadowing or working interviews are a great time for veterinary professionals to assess a hospital's workplace culture. When you go on-site for an interview: - Observe how team members collaborate and discuss cases - Identify if the clinic holds regular team meetings, such as daily rounds or weekly all-team gatherings, to ensure a certain level of patient care and a cohesive medical standard - Observe how client education is approached (who, how much, which methods). These factors influence the standard of care and inform how you will be able to practice. - Take note of patient scheduling and volume of cases. How do they go about scheduling (appt times 30 min or 1 hr for example)? What are the support staff (reception/tech) to doctor ratios? There is no right or wrong answer, but these elements do influence how your work day.
