Familect - a set of invented words and phrases that are only understandable to a family or small intimate group. It can gain vocabulary through slips of tongue and word invention. I was thinking about posting about this the other day before I even knew there was an actual word for it, and of course there had to be. Familect is something that can leave "outsiders" baffled when hearing conversations- everyone in my house knows what "Stanky leg"means, but those who don't know are perplexed. Some examples of familect are easy to understand and originate from words being mis-pronounced (memories, becord & hostiplal) others require a bit more explaining Doggy sparkle face - this means video games - stemming from the kids playing games on a tablet during a 13 hour car journey. Flubert - The boy child Melsmith - The girl child Noonis - Dennis /Max Snitizel - Mitch Morristoney - My other half. And my favourite - Chicken Pi$$ = Chicken supreme - called so because half of the house love it and half of the don't. What is the concept of #Children_Learn_through_play? To my observation, whenever children play it happens to be in two ways -especially at school; 1.When left to play without teachers' influence, there will seem to be no order. Because children will try out to implement some of the mortal actions or sports they recently saw either on television or anywhere else. They try bringing them into practice with their fellows. 2.But when teachers intervene to conduct organised #Group_games, there will be some order in the play ground. A question of interest is; what would be better? should we encourage play without teachers' influence? or organised group games is better? but before choosing, it's important to highlight #Who benefits from either of the two ways of playing? What is best for our children? What do you think about this? #Quality_Education #Learners_Motivation #Holistic_Child_Development

Sometimes people ask me if paying to play games with strangers is really worth it. Since the 90s, scientists have discovered that play is a primal form of learning. Animals learn survival tips through play. Dolphins, wolves, polar bears all have been seen playing. For us humans, once we reach adulthood, we are taught that play is improper, but if it is in our nature to play, can't we use it to learn even more? In #Play14 events, we re-learn play, and we learn how to use it effectively to aid learning. As a community event, we learn by sharing, by experiencing and by reflecting. Experience to power of #play in creating engagement, share and learn tools to enhance play. What is play for an adult? Play is a limited, structured and voluntary activity that involves the imaginary. The outcome of play is social bonding, emotional expression, cognitive development and constructive competition.
