This is what 5,000 cubic meters of project cargo on a single sailing looks like! 🚢 🏗️ 👀 We recently transported eight massive fiber-reinforced plastic tanks from Nhava Sheva, India, to Tekirdag, Türkiye – a first-of-its-kind operation on this route. These tanks are used in effluent treatment plants to handle wastewater and store chemical solutions for water treatment. CONVERSION OF A BUCKET ELEVATOR FOR RAW MEAL TRANSPORT Cement plant in Colombia   The bucket elevator chain had already broken three times near the bush: The manufacturer's laminated chain could not withstand the sum of many forces, such as the altitude of up to 2,500 m, a centre distance of 53 m and the rated capacity of 350 t/h. The contact pressure of the chain links was too high. The chain links broke - the chain and buckets collapsed. The plant for raw meal production (grain size < 1 mm) had to be taken out of operation three times to repair the chain. The safety of the operating personnel was no longer guaranteed.   The Colombian customer therefore decided to replace the chain with one from AUMUND as early as 2022. The AUMUND companies from Brazil and Germany presented a rebuild solution that provided for an improvement in the quality, design and breaking strength of the chain strand. The entire drive shaft, the chain and all connecting elements were replaced. The new, almost 107 metre long, forged chain from AUMUND in a special design has a breaking force of 1,500 kN and holds the 300 buckets securely. Assembly and adjustments took place in just five days and the subsequent running test demonstrated the success of the conversion.   Two inspections in 2023 and 2024 confirmed the excellent result of the assembly two years earlier: less than 1% wear was recorded at the control measuring points. The customer's maintenance manager is very satisfied: ”Two years have passed in which production has run uninterruptedly - without alarms or stops. Standard Conventional Distillation in Air Separation Plants The distillation of binary system is the simplest and most basic distillation content, the conventional standard distillation scheme is as follows: the rectification raw materials are pumped into the heat exchanger and the high and low boiling point products (liquid) of the backflow distillation and then enter the middle of the atmospheric distillation column. The bottom of the distillation column is provided with a steam heater (reboiler), and the steam heating makes the high boiling point liquid product at the bottom of the atmospheric distillation column partially gasify as the stripping gas (also can be called reflux gas), and the rest of the high boiling point liquid is led out as the product after the heat exchange between the heat exchanger and the rectification raw material. A cooling condenser is arranged at the top of the atmospheric distillation column, and the low boiling point component gas at the top is cooled by the cooling water to liquefy it, and a part of the liquid is used as reflux liquid (also can be called washing liquid), and a part of the liquid is led out as the product after the heat exchange between the heat exchanger and the rectification raw material. Tray or packing is set in atmospheric distillation column to enhance gas-liquid contact to facilitate the heat and mass exchange between gas and liquid. The atmospheric rectifying tower is divided into rectifying section (washing section) and stripping section by the inlet of rectifying material. In the distillation section, the rising gas phase and the reflux liquid contact heat and mass exchange, the rising gas phase of the high boiling point components continue to condense into the reflux liquid, and the low boiling point components of the reflux liquid continue to gasify into the rising gas, so the distillation section is sometimes called the washing section. The liquid at the inlet of the rectification material descends into the stripping section, and contacts with the reflux gas (stripping gas) for heat and mass exchange. The low boiling point components in the descending liquid (not the reflux liquid) are continuously gasified into the reflux gas, and the high boiling point components in the reflux gas are continuously condensed into the descending liquid. In this way, mixed liquid with high and low boiling point is continuously fed from the middle of the atmospheric distillation column, and high boiling point liquid products and low boiling point liquid products are continuously removed from the bottom and top of the atmospheric distillation column.
