How can we create a circular economy? 🤔 We all know that less “take, make, waste” and more “reduce, reuse, recycle” would be good for all of us – and the environment. But what concrete steps can we take to help to create a circular economy? At Sappi, making what we should, not just what we can – from woodfibre-based renewable resources – is central to how we run our business. So, we asked our colleagues – Gustavo Duarte (Head of Business Development), Lasse Lerche (Sales and Technical Customer Service Manager), Georgiana Marin (Sales Manager) and Bram Goorts (Manager Power Plant and Waste Water Treatment) – to tell us what was key to them in creating a circular economy. #methanemitigationsummit We as #Repsol Sustainability/E&P GHG team (Rosalía Vázquez Pérez, Gulshat Rakhmetova and I) have been participating of the 2024 european #methanemitigationsummit in Amsterdam. Very productive 3 days of workshops, presentation, panel, discussion groups...It has been very interesting to meet experts from around the world. Thanks everyone for sharing knowledge and best practices for methane mitigation! It has been a pleasure participating of the panel "FROM PLANNING TO EXECUTION: IMPLEMENTING ABATEMENT STRATEGIES INTO YOUR OPERATIONS" with Ir. Ts. Hasnor Hashim CEng, PEng, PTech, Sonna Sathiamoorthy, Jose de la Torre Gallegos and Matthew Williams. We have shared how our companies are moving ahead concrete actions to make reality our strategies for methane mitigation. I would like to highlight the multidisciplinary collaboration both within the companies and between different companies and entrepreneurs and research groups. We have an important challenge in front of all of us. Let's continue collaborating to boost the methane emissions and climage change mitigation!

Excited to introduce @MissionPossiblePartnership’s Global Project Tracker: which reveals a pressing gap in our industrial decarbonisation efforts.  To get on track for a net-zero future, nearly 600 additional near-zero, decarbonised industrial plants in sectors from steel to aviation need to reach the Final Investment Decision stage within the next 3 years.  The good news is plans for nearly 500 plants are identified, representing a huge opportunity to reduce the gap. Industrial decarbonisation has started, but investment decisions need to accelerate rapidly to meet 2030 targets. Exciting news! 🎉 Our partner Mission Possible Partnership has just launched its Global Project Tracker, unveiling the current status of the energy, material, and technology transition roadmap across hard-to-abate sectors such as aluminum, cement, concrete, chemicals, steel, aviation, shipping, and trucking. This open-source tool is the result of a multi-year collaboration among various partners and sector experts. Its aim is to support cross-sectoral stakeholders in their decarbonization efforts, including financial institutions, governments, and the industry as a whole. Throughout the year the World Economic Forum in collaboration with Mission Possible Partnership, will release a series of sector-specific case studies and success stories. Where are the hard-to-abate, emissions-intensive heavy industry and transport sectors in relation to Paris targets? In a nutshell: - the tally of Announced net zero-aligned green plant or infrastructure is about halfway to MPP’s 2030 Milestones, a threshold that would make global 2050 goals viable. - but only about 10% of those projects have passed Final Investment Decision (FID) - and only a fraction are operational. Dig deeper by sector, geography and project stage in this global tracker… And big congratulations to all @missionpissiblepartnership on this multi-year effort. #decarbonisation #energytransition #greenmaterials
