Step into Jaya's world, ABGLP of 2023 batch, as she recounts her internship adventure with ABG—marked by challenges, learning, and the joy of securing a PPO. Passion, Excellence, and Impact: These form the core of my experience as part of the GIP. In the program, we got the opportunity to work on critical projects, interact with key stakeholders, and create value for the organization. So, how did I go from walking into my induction to receiving a pre-placement offer? The first is a learning mindset. Since I was stepping into a conglomerate with a rich legacy, with each business having its own systems, processes, goals, and so on, I emphasized learning the business priorities and ways of working. Second, building meaningful connections. I was poised to understand differing points of view, gain insights, and receive guidance. This collaborative spirit helped me deliver above expectations. Third, I viewed my internship as a platform for development. This was the perfect gateway for experimentation, taking risks, being bold, and creating impact. I also received invaluable feedback along the way. The key lies in appreciating this period for the transformative power it holds. And now to the most-awaited part: the PPO. I honed my skills and contributed meaningfully, thereby fostering the conditions for a fruitful outcome. Campus Engagement: Universiti Malaysia Terengganu We were back in the East Coast region last week to attend an invitation extended by the Career Path Club UMT (CPC) for another Student Engagement Session. This is what we do in the Campus Engagement team of TalentCorp—we go out, engaging Malaysian talents, offering wisdom and guidance. Through these interactions, we hope to inspire and support the next generation in their career journeys. I would like to extend my gratitude to the Career Path Club, led by Zati Zulkifli, for inviting me to engage with students on a career-related topic last Saturday. Great work, Zati, for leading such a club! It will definitely add great value to your CV! —-🔥 side story… Growing up, I have always been an introvert, and to this day, I still consider myself one. I tend to be selective about my audience and often feel very shy when speaking in front of professionals. However, I found a unique sense of comfort and ease when addressing students. The experience was not only fulfilling but also allowed me to connect with them on a personal level, making the discussion both meaningful and impactful. —- I look forward to more sessions like this in the future. PINTAR has acquired Kerja.io, Indonesia's leading marketplace for internships in the technology and financial services sectors, along with its core assets such as career preparation programs and its community of young and talented Indonesian professionals. We will integrate what serial entrepreneur and co-founder Timothy Sam Wijaya has built into our enterprise business segment to connect students globally to internship opportunities and industry mentors to help accelerate their learning. Timothy will join PINTAR in an advisory capacity to oversee #design and #product integration of Kerja.io into PINTAR’s business segment called PINTAR #Opportunity, which is a tech-enabled placement service in which we train workers to land jobs and entrepreneurs to sell product. Launched earlier this year, we have already placed 50+ users and are scaling up with placements in Australia, Singapore, South Korea, and the US. We intend to put particular emphasis on #vocational high schools in Indonesia where students and alumni face challenges in making the transition from education to employment, which is painfully ironic because they have decided to take that applied track in the first place precisely for a better chance at placement relative to their peers on the academic track. #Internships as well as externships, apprenticeships, employer-sponsored projects and the like are important because they offer #experiential learning for young people to build skills, professionalism and networks, and people more advanced in their careers the ability to transition into another function, industry or geography. Fresh out of high school, I started an internship at a fixed income securities brokerage because I couldn’t land a job. There one of the partners noticed my work ethic, resilience and accountability at clerical work and encouraged me to apply for licensure and university. That experience was transformative. It felt like being "discovered." And it set off my career. By acquiring Kerja.io and onboarding Timothy Sam Wijaya, we hope to deliver the same experience to others at defining junctures in their careers.     Here is a testimony from Mr. Reino Joseph, now a rising senior at university who was placed at a technology internship in Singapore. Only 6% got accepted ✔️ Baltic Youth LAB is appreciated and demanded internship program taking place 7 years in a row. Super happy to see Youth LAB alumni (especially from 1st, 2nd seasons) flourishing and sharing their experience with fresh interns. Some of them are SEB employee since very beginning when Youth LAB program started in 2018 and some of them got back after 2 or 5 years. BTW and of those accepted up to 30% remain as (or become after some time) SEB employee <- slightly better numbers 🫢 #SEBlife #YouthLAB #ExperientialLearning
