ISRO faced significant hurdles in the program's early years, including: 1. Satellites prematurely ending their orbital lifespan. 2. Satellites incurring damage during ground operations. 3. Reliance on other agencies for replacing malfunctioning #satellites in orbit. 4. Additionally, launching 70-80% of INSAT missions depended on external agencies. The development of the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (#GSLV) marked a turning point, enabling ISRO to: 1. Launch indigenously developed satellites. 2. Utilize Indian #launch_vehicles, reducing dependence on external agencies. This shift towards self-reliance has likely resulted in: 1. Increased #cost_effectiveness. 2. Enhanced #technological_expertise within ISRO. 3. Greater control over mission #timelines and #objectives.
