My 10 year outlook on the auto industry... Front end gross is going to be a thing of the past Your parts & service departments will need to be refined in every aspect to be closer to 100% absorption (if not already there). Your F&I departments will need to be aggressive althewhile putting your consumers needs first. Why? Consumers are demanding more transparency. Competition amongst dealers in your region will be ever so tight due to this. Todays car salesman looks a lot different than someone that sold 20 years ago. Parts, Service, F&I = The Future

The future of purchasing an automobile is pressure-free and stress-free. Let Astorg Auto of Charleston do all the research for you. Astorg Auto has proudly been a One Low Price, no negotiation automotive dealership for over 25 years. We price our cars, not our customers. Is a Pre-Purchase Inspection worth the cost?? Let me answer that question with a question. Is saving $99,000 more or less important to you than saving less than 1% of that $99K? Let me explain, here we have a 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet that was for sale at a local dealership. The potential buyer calls me from Michigan and hires me to inspect this supposed "CLEAN CARFAX", 1 owner Porsche that was listed as "Celebrity Owned". Upon arrival at the dealership, I was informed by 2 separate salesmen about how clean and beautiful this car is, To which I always reply, "𝑰'𝒎 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒃𝒖𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒕, 𝑰'𝒎 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒕". My job isn't to sell the car OR kill the deal. My job is to inspect, verify, inform and educate the potential buyer on the condition of the car and the accuracy of the seller's claims. During my inspection, I found that the car had previous damage on the right side and it had been repainted. The claim of having "New Tires" was easy to spot as false when verifying the date codes on the tires. When I asked if there was any proof of Celebrity Ownership, I was told, "𝑵𝒐, 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐 𝒅𝒐𝒄𝒖𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏". When I called the dealership to schedule the appointment to inspect, I always ask if there is a lift on-site so an undercarriage inspection can take place, I was assured that this was no problem, however, once on-site I was told by several employees that "No one knows how to operate the lift" So I was not able to see any discrepancies with the underside of the car. For less than 1% of the total purchase price of this Porsche, I saved this buyer from a $99,000 mistake!!! NEVER take a dealer's word for it, NEVER trust what a seller is selling you. Have it inspected by a disinterested 3rd party that will provide you with the truth and prepares you to make a wise investment decision. Unless you are selling something very niche indeed, there are sufficient customers out there. That means you do not need to hunt down the problems. You do not have to seize potential deal, however much it will ruin your business. I learnt this from the General Manager of the Ford Dealership in which I was working in 1986. 1986. I know. And before you say it, the Model T had been discontinued. But the Ford Escort was a big seller, and we had them rolling off transporters. But the Manager noticed that one of the team were about to agree to a deal that would make us zero project, from a customer who would certainly require a lot of maintenance. 'There will be someone else for that car', he insisted, as he authorised us to reject the offer. And I believe he was right. Seek out the customers with whom you can have a relationship that benefits you both. Otherwise it will benefit neither of you. The best service you can provide for some people is a lift to the bus stop. #business

Car dealerships make MORE money on the after market products & services than the actual car itself! That’s right. This is why the F&I (who works closely with the salesperson) pushes hard on wear & tear packages, tire & rim protections, Paint Protection Film (PPF), extended warranties, TAG systems and the list goes on! Here is an example of the commission breakdown when they sell you a TAG for the car at a Honda dealership: Price you pay: $699+tax+interest if you add it to your monthly payments Dealership cost: $100 70% of profit goes to dealership 20% goes to the F&I 10% goes to the sales person **You should know that all the after market products & services can be negotiated too should it be of interest to you** This is where we at Autos Consultants shine. We don’t just take care of the negotiations of the car itself but we take care of all products and services proposed by the F&I It’s time to play smart! It’s also time to give POWER BACK to the consumer..

The provisional sales figures show that car sales of the three listed car assemblers are expected to experience a surge to the tune of 8,651 units up 74%MoM during Jan’24, while YoY sales might drop by only 6% reflecting the broader market dynamics.

Some tips to help you buy your next car for less. Enjoy that new car smell longer. There is something special about buying a brand new vehicle - the smell... the pristine paint... the purring of a well timed and perfectly balanced motor. ... So how do you ensure that feeling is not soured as you drive out of the car dealership? Car dealerships can be a very high pressured sales environment. The salesperson has a number of techniques they will utilise to ensure their bottom line is better than yours. The most important factor to ensure you obtain a 'good deal' is to do your research before you start negotiating. When buying a new vehicle, generally a number of individual transactions take place: 1. purchasing your new vehicle, 2. selling your old vehicle, and 3. organising finance. When negotiating, you should strive to win on each of these transactions. Before entering negotiations with the salesperson it is recommended you complete the following steps, which are outlined here in my latest factsheet: "Enjoy that new car smell longer!" https://lnkd.in/gSgJNCae
