Years ago, Wilson Wolf Manufacturing, LLC envisioned of a future where a G-Rex device could be manipulated by a robot to provide unparalleled throughput and repeatability. MVZ Medizinische Labore Dessau Kassel GmbH, part of the Limbach Group, Germany’s largest owner-managed laboratory firm, processes over 1.8 million orders and conducts about 8.5 million #laboratory tests annually. To improve efficiency in their smaller #hospital #labs, ABB, in collaboration with MVZ developed a flexible #automated solution to handle patient samples. https://lnkd.in/equzRYa2 Named the Lab Table II, the workstation features two ABB IRB 1300 articulated robots that perform a host of tasks from the moment blood samples are received until they are archived for future reference. Making it possible to work safely alongside humans in a compact lab is ABB’s SafeMove software. With SafeMove, industrial robots can detect the proximity of human beings and automatically slow down or stop when they enter safety zones. This innovative system is expected to speed up processing by 25 percent and will free up lab staff to focus on more critical tasks.
