**You deserve a place at the table.** As humans, and especially as people of colour, we often allow our own prejudice and inner saboteur to stand in the way of reaching new heights or showing up as our authentic selves in the workplace. We carry the weight of doubt, fear, and the feeling that we don’t fully belong—and it holds us back from living in our purpose. But we need to break free from that. **Your voice matters.** Your presence is essential. The richness of your experiences and perspectives are not just valuable—they are necessary. This is a reminder to not shrink, to not silence yourself. Instead, walk boldly into spaces that may seem daunting. Claim your seat at the table and live out your purpose unapologetically. The world needs what you bring. Don’t wait for permission. **Own your worth, live in your truth, and take your rightful place.** #Diversity #Authenticity #PurposeDriven #TakeYourSeat #Leadership #Inclusion

I empower executive women of color to do the impossible | featured in Forbes | 15+ years in tech | former Fortune 200 director | MBA, PCC
This post by Mita Mallick really spoke to me personally, and as a coach for women of color. A while back, I thought that a major interpersonal issue at work was my doing. For months, I told myself: “I must not be communicating clearly.” “Maybe I’m misunderstanding something.” “Be empathetic, of course they mean no harm.” Then when I suddenly lost 8 pounds in a month, I knew I was stressed. When leaders didn’t believe my concerns, I knew I was alone. When I was actively silenced, I knew the issue was systemic. Personal accountability is one of my personal values, and one that I share with many women leaders I coach. It even popped up in interviews I did earlier this year with executive women of color. But I have learned the hard way that there is such a thing as being “too” responsible. It’s why 'accountability' is not one of my core business values. My business values are impact, oneness, and transformation. For me, oneness gets at something bigger than accountability: It’s respect for our interconnectivity. It’s about each of us leaning in as individuals to contribute to the health of the whole. Accountability is a value, but it is also a tactic to get to oneness. Hold onto it – AND build awareness around when you might be taking onto your own shoulders the problems of an entire system. You deserve to be cared for by the system in the same way that you care for it.

Like that Taylor Swift song, I kept thinking: It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me. Throughout my career, I thought: 👉🏿 I just need to work harder, then they will recognize me. 👉🏿 Ok, they didn’t mean it. I am overreacting. 👉🏿 I need to change. I need to try harder to fit in with the team. And more. I thought I must be the problem. Because It’s easy to think that. And it took me too long to realize that I was trying to survive in systems that weren’t built for me. I was never the problem. So now I don’t settle for environments that don’t accept, recognize, celebrate, lift up and honor what I bring to the table. And neither should you 🙌🏾 #inclusion #leadership #culture #MitaMallick

Absolutely. The best organizations realize that their employees aren't human resources. They aren't resources. They are human. And if properly treated and engaged, the employee wins, the organization wins, and everyone wins.
