Pharmacy Workforce Development South (PWDS)’s Post

5th -11 February is National Apprenticeship Week! We caught up with some colleagues who are currently on PWDS apprenticeship programmes. Jay, who is an Integrated Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (PTPT) at BNSSG spoke with us about his experience: Why did you choose to do a pharmacy technician apprenticeship? "I was interested in the wide ranging opportunities available to pharmacy technicians to work in varied roles doing and different things" What’s the best thing about doing an apprenticeship? "I enjoy having the time set out for study to help balance learning commitments as well as being able to learn so much on the job as well" What advice would you give someone considering an apprenticeship? "Make as best use of your time as possible. Get a good idea of the different pieces of coursework you need to complete and when you need to complete it by, to make sure you have enough time to commit to completing them on time"
