December is International Sharps Injury Prevention Awareness Month. Every year, hospital employees experience 385,000 sharps injuries. One in seven healthcare professionals is injured by a contaminated sharp. These accidental injuries expose pharmacists, surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to bloodborne pathogens and hazardous drugs that can cause serious health risks. It’s important to take this month to review safety protocols and implement safeguards to protect our healthcare professionals. #SharpsInjuryPreventionMonth #nursesafety #protecthealthcareworkers #surgeonsafety #sharpssafety #sharps #hospitalsafety
