I've really enjoyed working on the new MUSE hardware and programming with the new AUTOMATOR software. Not only has it made programming quicker and more fun (I can run Automator on Mac with the standard dark mode interface) it has also provided an easy introduction into popular and powerful languages like Python, JSON and JavaScript. I say easy intro because Automator handles run-of-the-mill code with drag and drop nodes for tasks like Button Press > Display On or Vol Up/Down/Mute etc easily, but for more complicated tasks like monitoring gain level feedback with ranges of -80 to +10db, you can use tools like ChatGPT to spin up a code snippet that converts the incoming data to a 0 - 100 range for UI feedback. Yes, Automator nodes also have built-in features like data normalisation that can do this for you (with a simple tick of a box), but if you did want more insight into powerful languages and their structures, function nodes are an easy way to get that visibility and experience without having to program your whole project in source code.   Have you used AUTOMATOR software or the MUSE controllers?
