5 cyber hygiene habits everyone should adopt. Good cyber hygiene is like washing your hands—it's a small, routine effort that can prevent big problems. Here are five simple yet essential habits to keep your devices secure and your data safe: • Review App Permissions: Apps often request access to more information than necessary. Regularly review and adjust permissions on your devices, allowing only what's needed. • Set Password Expiration Reminders: Passwords shouldn’t last forever, especially for critical accounts. Regularly updating them reduces your risk of unauthorized access. • Perform Software Updates: Outdated software can be a welcome mat for cyber threats. Enable automatic updates to protect against new vulnerabilities as soon as they’re discovered. • Disable Unused Services: Bluetooth, file sharing, and other services can be convenient, but they can also be security risks if left on. Turn them off when they’re not in use. • Delete Unused Accounts: Forgotten accounts can pose risks if left open and unmonitored. If you’re not using it, close it! Staying safe online doesn’t have to be complicated—small changes like these add up.

Signs of Poor Cyber Hygiene How clean is your cyber hygiene? We're not talking about dusting off your keyboard (though that might be overdue). We're talking about your online habits that can make or break your data security. If you're not careful, those bad habits could be leaving the door wide open for cybercriminals. Here are a few red flags that might mean it's time to step up your game: ❎ You've got post-it notes with passwords on your desk. Sticking passwords to your monitor is like handing out keys to anyone who walks by. ❎ Your phone is a security-free zone. If your smartphone doesn't have a passcode or biometric lock, you're inviting trouble. ❎ You don't use two-factor authentication (2FA). Relying on just a password without adding that second layer of security is like having a lock with no deadbolt. ❎ You ignore suspicious emails. Clicking on random links or attachments is a fast track to malware or phishing schemes. If any of this sounds familiar, don't panic! It's never too late to tidy up your cyber hygiene habits. Your data will thank you. #CyberSecurity #CyberHygiene #StaySafeOnline Link to article: https://lnkd.in/gm5Y7_dW gets-leave-organizations-ill-prepared
