#DidYouKnow leaving H. pylori (HP) infection untreated may increase colorectal cancer (CRC) incidence and related mortality? A recently published study found that among an HP-positive population, individuals who received eradication treatment had reduced CRC incidence and related mortality compared to individuals who did not receive treatment for their HP infection. Today is World Lymphoedema Awareness Day 2024. Oncology interventions necessary to improve overall survival, extend disease free survival and reduce the risk of cancer recurrence, can come with some side effects. One of those is the risk of developing lymphoedema. In the head and neck population the majority of clients (up to 84%) following radiotherapy will experience lymphoedema within the first 6-months - this can impact the ability to eat and swallow. In the breast cancer population, radiotherapy increases the risk of breast and arm lymphoedema. Gynaecological cancers that require external beam radiotherapy have an increased risk of leg lymphoedema. Untreated and unmanaged lymphoedema creates functional limitations and makes clients vulnerable to infection. Early intervention with a trained lymphoedema therapist is key to reducing these risks, especially following cancer treatments. #lymphedema #lymphoedemaawareness #cancerrehab

Colorectal cancer is a silent threat, often going undetected until it's too late. Known for its lack of early symptoms, this "lazy cancer" can develop unnoticed, turning what begins as harmless growths into life-threatening conditions. Early detection is key to increasing survival rates, yet traditional methods can be invasive and uncomfortable. The ColoScreen™ test offers a revolutionary solution—a simple, non-invasive blood test that detects colorectal cancer at its earliest stages, with a sensitivity of 91.2%. This test allows for early intervention when the chances of successful treatment are highest, offering a convenient and cost-effective alternative to more invasive procedures. Don't wait for symptoms to appear—take proactive control of your health with ColoScreen™. Click to learn more about how this test can be a lifesaver in the fight against colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer screening helps fight against a prevalent and potentially deadly disease. 👉 Why Screenings Matter: 1️⃣ Early Detection: Identifying precancerous growths early can prevent the development of colorectal cancer. 2️⃣ Increased Survival Rates: Timely screenings can lead to higher survival rates, making a significant impact on patient outcomes. 3️⃣ Lower Treatment Costs: Preventing cancer is not only better for the patient but also reduces the burden on healthcare resources. By emphasizing the importance of screenings to patients and ensuring compliance with screening guidelines, we can help contribute to improved survival rates and the prevention of colorectal cancer. #qualitymeasure #gapsincare #qualityimprovement

Progression-free survival (PFS) is a critical clinical endpoint in cancer research and treatment, providing valuable information about the effectiveness of a therapeutic intervention. PFS refers to the duration of time during and after treatment when a patient's disease does not progress or worsen. The significance of PFS lies in its ability to serve as a surrogate marker for the overall efficacy of a treatment regimen. It is a key measure in clinical trials and is often used to assess the impact of new drugs or therapies on disease control. Longer PFS may be associated with better clinical outcomes and improved quality of life for patients. Genelux is using PFS as the primary end point in its ongoing Phase 3 OnPrime/GOG-3076 trial as we look to have a direct impact on the well-being and quality of life for individuals facing cancer and replicate our data from the completed VIRO-15 trial. #cancerresearch #stage4needsmore #cancer #lungcancer #lungcancerawarenessmonth

Help raise colorectal cancer screening rates for adults - including those living in rural areas. Encourage discussions between rural health care providers and their patients about alternative options for testing. Colorectal cancer screenings can save lives. Provider shortages and lack of transportation to specialists can make these screenings difficult to get for patients who live in rural areas. There are several colorectal cancer screening options that can be used to find polyps or colorectal cancer; some that patients can do at home. Get the quick facts on colorectal screening prevalence estimates in the United States. https://bit.ly/3ww1HxX
