Our work is exciting and rewarding, but without the right precautions, it can also be dangerous. Let’s all take some time to remember that safety isn’t one single action. It’s a continuous, ongoing effort that involves proper training, good equipment maintenance, and everyone following the same rules at all times. On our sites, we routinely use these “Life-Saving Rules” from Energy Safety Canada as a quick reference guide for how to stay safe in any situation. Learn more about how you can use them too at https://lnkd.in/g5e5Y-D7 #CanadianEnergy #OHS #InjuryPrevention

At the Parliamentary Environmental Audit Committee last week, Heat Pump Association (HPA) Chair Craig Dolan reiterated the need to remove barriers for anyone wishing to become a qualified heat pump installer. Currently, HPA members have the capacity to train 40,000 people per year, but this is not being realised. The cost associated with having to take time away from paid employment can often mean that such training is put on the back burner for many potential installers. This ultimately slows down the deployment of heat pump technology in the UK. Craig stated that the government needs to; 👷 Offer better support for installers who undertake heat pump training Which will; ⌚ Consolidate the duration and the associated costs of training schemes. This means more qualified heat pump installers within the UK. Watch what Craig had to say here 👇🏼 #HeatPumps #NetZero #theHPA

On October 6, 2023, EPA released a proposed rule to manage the existing stock of HFC refrigerants and their substitutes. The Agency accepted feedback on the rule and many in the HVACR industry expressed reservations regarding certain aspects of the proposed rule, including ACCA President & CEO Barton James and ACCA Corporate Partners Hudson Technologies Daikin Comfort, and Johnson Controls. "...the need for technician certification was another frequently mentioned issue in the comments. Barton James, president and CEO of ACCA wrote that his organization strongly supports EPA establishing training and certification requirements for technicians who service equipment using A2, A2L, and A3 refrigerants." Modern commercial buildings are intricate ecosystems with complex HVAC systems that demand continuous attention. Traditional commissioning methods often fall short in ensuring consistent performance and tenant satisfaction. This is where KODE’s Functional Testing Tool (#FTT), an ongoing commissioning (OCx) solution, steps in to transform building maintenance into a proactive, efficient process. Unlike traditional or retro commissioning methods, which offer a one-time or periodic assessment, FTT involves continuous testing and monitoring of a building’s systems. This proactive approach enables facility managers to identify and address emerging faults before they escalate into significant, costly problems. Our latest blog post, written by KODE Product Lead Michael Kovalcik, explores ongoing commissioning’s impact on building performance, costs, and the overall risk of equipment failure. Read the blog post from the link in the comments. 👇 #SmartBuildings #BuildingMaintenance #OngoingCommissioning #OGx #HVAC #FacilityManagement #KODELabs
