WATCH: A New Era for Bobwhite Quail. Link below! In order to make significant progress in restoring bobwhite quail populations, wild lands and working lands must work together for the benefit of the life they support and the livelihoods they sustain. That’s why one of Quail Forever’s strategic priorities includes restoring and enhancing 780,000 acres of upland habitat on private land in targeted quail states by 2026. That may seem like a daunting task, but luckily there are proven programs, solid partnerships, and a brand-new opportunity for landowners to utilize. Watch our original film, “A New Era for Bobwhite Quail,” to learn about some of these landmark initiatives while also hearing from landowners who are making – and seeing – a difference for quail populations on their own properties in Georgia and Missouri. Do you have a link to recommendations on How to improve the habitat for Quail? I recently purchase about 120 Acres near El Campo, Tx and have a wildlife exemption on it. We have seen wild quail within a mile of the property but none on it yet. I have planted Milo, Millet, sunflower, Oats, clover, rice, and peas to try to benefit both deer and Birds. There is plenty of water available and brush piles that were left at the edges of the cleared areas

I know Southern quail will never get to their 1950's population but it would be wonderful if they would rise to the 1980's population mark. Also I wish eastern States would take note for what the western states are doing. Instead of investing in public owned land, incentivizes farmers to let hunters onto their property (walk in hunter program) then reward the farmer when there is game population increase/ hunter success.
