Finally! I did a thing. I made a reel for some of the work I have done our news station at KAKE in Kansas. Not only that, but I am sure this will need a bit of updating in a month or so. The focus is on the look, style, and presentation with a footnote of some of the extra flare that I add to the storytelling and marketing of what we do. The thing I keep in mind is if you're only making news, you are already operating behind the curve of where things are headed. We make news and content and news as content. This is a television presentation that offers news as its primary genre. We have to be compelling and do something that elevates how we communicate to the viewer's experience. This is never an easy task, and it doesn't work today, nor tomorrow. Good habits work in time. Creative rearrangement is a term for me that says we adapt what we once did and make it work for what we do now and can do in the future. Comcast plans to spin off NBCUniversal's cable networks — including MSNBC, CNBC, Oxygen, Bravo, USA Network and others — into a separate, publicly traded company. The spinoff wouldn't include the NBC broadcast network, the Peacock streaming service, or Bravo and its reality programming, including the "Real Housewives" franchise. Cable television — while facing heavy viewership declines due to cord-cutting — is still very profitable.

Of the many grievances both unions listed in their justifications for grinding the industry to a halt for over half a year, was the concern about the use of #AI generated content by the member studios of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) without proper attribution or licensing royalties to the original creators. Based on multiple independent studies, the combined strikes are estimated to have cost the Media & Entertainment industry between $5-$6.5 billion in lost revenue, which does not take into account their impact and influence on the reduction of new production starts this year, the decrease in valuation of the studios in the financial markets, or the subsequent mass layoffs at many of the studios they were striking against. Last month Lionsgate announced a deal with Runway to license their entire library of images and likenesses, who are owned by the studio, not the actors. Yesterday Hearst announced a similar deal with OpenAI to do the same.
