As we celebrate Independence Day, we are reminded that, while still far from perfect, our country has always evolved to meet the needs of an ever-changing world. We have an opportunity to continue this evolution and work together to build a thriving, resilient, pro-equity democracy that effectively meets the needs of a politically, racially, and religiously diverse America. Today, as many in the U.S. observe the 4th of July, I find myself reflecting on the many dimensions of independence. Whether you're celebrating or, as Gabriela Acosta wisely puts it, hoping for more reasons to celebrate next year, it’s a moment to consider the deeper meanings of freedom. Independence Day traditionally marks autonomy from monarchical rule--which is particularly poignant this year--but deserves to be met with more than unequivocal celebration. Like all things, this deserves some both/and: - BOTH celebration of the freedoms achieved AND a recognition that there's so much farther to go, at home and abroad - BOTH awareness of the freedoms we look to the powers-that-be to guarantee for us AND the freedoms we need win for ourselves by demanding and acting on them - BOTH valuing essential political and social freedoms AND recognizing the personal entanglements and inner attachments continue to inhibit true individual liberation in so many ways This year, may we recognize that there are freedoms that we look to external powers to bestow and guarantee on our behalf, and other freedoms that we can only achieve through personal development and collective action. And, may we have more to celebrate next year. #independenceday #personalgrowth #collectiveaction #freedom

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day! As we celebrate our nation's freedom, it's crucial to remember what makes America great: 👉Our Constitution👈 Our Constitution is not up for debate. It's the foundation of our nation. If we allow it to be undermined, we risk losing our identity and our freedoms. Freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, and individual liberties... These are not outdated concepts. They're the pillars of our democracy. I will always stand up for what our founders built... And Reject the radical agendas trying to rewrite our history. We must protect our Constitution, our rights, and our future. This Independence Day... Let's remember to take a stand. Be unapologetically proud of our heritage. Defend our Constitution with everything you've got. Our nation's future depends on it.

15th August 2024: As we celebrate our 78th Independence Day, we reflect on the hard-earned freedom our forefathers fought for. Their sacrifices paved the way for our nation's independence. Let's honor and respect them, and salute their bravery. At the same time, recent acts of cruelty and injustice remind us that we still have work to do. These challenges serve as lessons we must learn from to build a better society. But let’s not forget the brighter side—our small achievements and the unity we can be proud of. Each of us has a role to play in removing the scars of injustice and ensuring a future where justice isn’t something to fight for, but a basic right for all. As we raise our flag today, let’s recognize both our struggles and our progress. Together, let’s strive to ensure safety and dignity for everyone. Happy Independence Day! 🇮🇳 **#IndependenceDay2024 #SaluteToHeroes #FreedomAndUnity #JusticeForAll #ProgressAndPeace**

I often hear from individuals deeply interested in Ukraine's affairs that the Revolution of Dignity was a CIA-orchestrated coup against a "Russian" rule-based system within Ukraine. 🕵️♂️🇺🇦 While I understand this viewpoint and acknowledge that intelligence services worldwide work towards their national security objectives in such scenarios, I respectfully disagree with the notion that this was an #American-led coup. 🇺🇸❌ It was, unequivocally, the people of #Ukraine. 🇺🇦✊ These were people yearning for what we cherish in #America: the fundamental right to the pursuit of happiness. 🗽💫 Such happiness remained elusive under a #Kremlin-backed regime, with citizens at the mercy of corrupt officials and oligarchs. 💼🚫 And let's not forget, this wasn't the first uprising. The Orange Revolution of 2004 is yet another instance where the Ukrainian people stood tall against the same oppressive forces they faced a decade later in 2014. 🍊🔙 After waiting a decade for change, only to be met with more of the same, the people's patience wore thin, and in 2014, they said, "enough is enough." 🕰️💥 Little did they know that soon after, #Russia would annex #Crimea and instigate conflicts in Donetsk and Luhansk, leading to a full-scale invasion eight years later. 🇷🇺🚀 Despite these challenges, the Ukrainian spirit of freedom and justice for all remains unbroken. They continue to resist, embodying the true essence of courage and resilience. 🛡️🔥 Let's never forget their struggle and the ideals they fight for. #SlavaUkraini 🇺🇦🌟
Today we honor the memory of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes - those who were killed during the Revolution of Dignity in the struggle for democracy, human rights & freedom for European future of 🇺🇦 Those, whose memory will always be alive. Eternal memory and glory to the Heroes! 🇺🇦
