Friends...it's not often I post but wanted to share something important to me. My favorite local brewery, MetroNOME, is opening another round of fundraising to expand their distribution. This brewery's mission is important to me because 1) the co-founder is my brother-in-law 2) the music they host is amazing (Wynton Marsalis pop up concert for example) and like no other venue and 3) they are helping young musicians with access to music education, experiences and opportunities to collaborate and perform. https://lnkd.in/gh4qmp93 https://lnkd.in/gBfXFaUk N-urturing O-utstanding M-usic E-ducation Their Story: "MetroNOME was founded on the belief that education in general, and music education in particular, is the gateway to a better, more fulfilling life, and we want to make sure that any child who loves music should be able to find a way to play." The Foundation: "The mission of the MetroNOME Foundation is to fund and promote music education programs that focus on underprivileged youth in the Twin Cities Metro area. So, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of our MetroNOME beer, as well as your donations, go directly to the MetroNOME Foundation, which will in turn sponsor local organizations that share our goals: providing musical instruments, lessons and education to kids. Quarterly, we’ll post about those benefactor programs we help fund and keep you updated on their efforts. Together, we can all sip, sing along and make a difference, knowing there’s a little more “good” brewed into a MetroNOME beer. To that end, we will contribute a portion of our proceeds, as well as your direct contributions, to music education groups in the Twin Cities metro area." If you love music, beer, or children, please consider being an investor! https://lnkd.in/gBfXFaUk

We live in a world in which everything from music concerts to restaurants are over-produced. We just came back from Las Vegas seeing Adele. The show begins with a back-up piano growing to a back-up group growing to a back-up mini-orchestra. Lights, fancy staging, a sound system with much too much bass, stuff (including small hearts) falling from the ceiling, etc. In this restaurant review, the reviewer asks the question of whether these places--that are on the World's 50 best list--serve food that people would actually want to eat. Sometimes, in food, music, movies, etc., less is more. Japanese culture recognizes this in many ways. Meanwhile, the trip to Vegas brought back memories of seeing Chuck Berry and Little Richard in venues where you could see and hear them and not be distracted with sound and light shows and stuff falling from the ceiling. #Adele #concerts #LasVegas #music #restaurants #bestlists #Japan

No one likes drinking alone. And the busier your taproom, the more each guest will spend. We analyzed thousands of taproom visits to see how the perceived level of busyness correlates to how much guests spend. Guests spent 38% more in packed taprooms compared to empty taprooms from 2017 to 2022. At one point, it was simply about the beer. Then the word 'experience' crept in. 'Experience' refers to every little aspect that contributes to a guest having a more memorable time. Their experience could be enhanced by something as basic as the music playing or something as extravagant as a decked-out anniversary celebration. See how by consistently facilitating and delivering these wow moments, you can see a busier taproom with higher tabs and more smiles.

In a world where buzzy celebrity-backed tequila lines are on-trend, especially when viewed as another way of creating a lucrative income stream, there is importance in looking to the artisanal and indigenous practices that are the foundation of what it means to appreciate tequila. https://lnkd.in/eFuGwbFZ

Sensory in Marketing is now new but it is fascinating to realise the power sounds have on us. Schools told to read books loudly as listening increases retention. Remember more, memorise effectively! Sounds, voice, music, noise and many other names instantly teleports our mind to the era we had seen and lived. Reminds of the emotions felt on first instance of a musical tune. Memories of the past seem fresh and as new. Ambience of a lounge becomes popular cause of the type of music it plays. Instantly calms or energises. Builds a character. Remember these jingles?? https://lnkd.in/dJMKw9A9 Which is your favourite adn what does it remind you of?

Chief Operating Officer at America's Best Restaurants: We help restaurants live in their guests phones.
I'm aware of 3rd party resellers for sports and music events, but this is the first I've heard about 3rd party platforms reselling restaurant reservations. The article states they are more active in major cities (I guess Cincinnati isn't major....LOL), so I'm curious if you have heard of these platforms. #restaurantmarketing #restaurantindustry https://lnkd.in/giekeGpZ

When a punk band I mildly enjoyed in my teenage years announced one of their first East Coast dates in nearly 20 years at a dive bar a mile and a half from my house, it seemed like a great excuse to spend twenty bucks, enjoy a few PBRs, and sing along to the five songs I could remember the words to. However, when the promoter announced, with less than a week’s notice, that the show would now be at a venue 30 minutes away, in the heart of a tourist area, during the busiest holiday weekend of the summer, I had to recalibrate my desire to go. Now, instead of a nice walk, it would be a 30-minute drive plus parking (about $50 on Fourth of July Weekend) or at least $80 in Uber costs. The band wasn’t one I would’ve sought out, but it seemed like a cool opportunity to hop in the way-back machine just a few minutes from my house. As of writing, I’ve reached out to the promoter for a refund. If I don’t hear back, I’ll most likely chalk up a $20 loss and spend the evening with my family. Pretend you arrive at the end of your street. Whether you go right or left, you end up at a brewery with a quality atmosphere, quality beer, and quality staff. Everything else being the same, but the brewery to the right is a half mile closer. Where do you end up most often? For me, it’s nearly always to the right. Of course, it doesn’t normally play out this easily, yet convenience can still be a prime driver of which taproom a person chooses to visit. It certainly impacted my motivation to attend a concert (note: the concert’s new location was even at a brewery). Often, we only think about the experiential factors that influence a person’s decision to visit. Things like, does the brewery have food? What’s the beer selection like? Is the staff friendly? Do I like the vibe? Before we even get to those criteria, we pre-determine the radius of breweries we are even choosing from. Is it feasible for me to pick a taproom within 5 miles? 10? 20? 50?

1. Oldest and Largest Beer Festival: Oktoberfest began in 1810, celebrating the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese. Today, it’s the largest beer festival in the world, attracting over 6 million visitors annually. 2. Massive Beer Consumption: Each year, visitors consume about 7 million liters of beer. That’s enough to fill almost three Olympic-sized swimming pools! 3. Traditional Attire: Many attendees dress in traditional Bavarian clothing, with men wearing Lederhosen and women in Dirndls, keeping the cultural roots alive. 4. More Than Beer: While beer is a central attraction, Oktoberfest is also a celebration of Bavarian culture with music, folk dances, amusement rides, and a wide variety of traditional foods like pretzels, sausages, and roasted chicken. 5. The “Wiesn”: Locals refer to Oktoberfest as “die Wiesn,” named after the Theresienwiese, the fairgrounds where it takes place. 6. Family Friendly: Despite its reputation for beer, Oktoberfest is family-friendly, with Tuesdays being dedicated as family days, offering discounts for rides and attractions for children. 7. International Impact: Oktoberfest has inspired similar celebrations around the world, with cities like Cincinnati, Ohio, and Kitchener-Waterloo, Canada, hosting their own versions of the festival.
