Partnerships make the impossible possible. Whether as a funder, community-builder, mentor, or programme partner, we can all do our part to forge a sustainable future. In her welcome remarks at the #PhilanthropyAsiaSummit 2024, Ms. Seok Hui Lim, CEO, Philanthropy Asia Alliance (PAA), highlighted that the need for urgent collective action has never been more pronounced. That is why our theme for this year’s Summit is “Partnerships for Action” — PAA is shifting the discussion beyond fundraising to spotlighting the possibilities of collective action, and delving into the role of public-private-philanthropic partnerships (PPPPs), in driving real impact. As she thanked all PAA members and partners for working with us to bring about change, Ms. Lim also updated on the progress of four pivotal enablers critical to accelerating our work in the past half a year since PAA’s official launch: 🛠️ Building capacity and competency through a new Asia Centre for Changemakers 🛠️ Building systems and knowledge for innovation — a SKI hub for short 🛠️ Building momentum with the Amplifier programme and the infrastructure for an impact marketplace through Co-Axis 🛠️ Fostering collaborations and expertise- and resource-sharing with our new Communities initiative Together, let’s do more, do better, and be bolder. PAS is the flagship platform for action by the #PhilanthropyAsiaAlliance, a Temasek Trust initiative to promote collaborative #philanthropy and prime #Asia as a force for good. ▶️ Learn more about this year’s four-day Summit: https://lnkd.in/greHDceD ✨ Follow us for more #PAS2024 highlights!

✨ Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending an enlightening presentation on the role of philanthropy in entrepreneurship and innovation in the GCC, organized by the Pearl Initiative and the Legatum Center for Development and Entrepreneurship (CDE) at MIT. ✨ The event brought together prominent voices from across the region, including Dina H. Sherif, Fadi Ghandour, Nader AlBastaki, Natasha Matic, Sabrin Rahman , Sonia Ben Jaafar, and Mona Ataya, for an engaging panel discussion. 🌍 Key Insights: Philanthropy plays a crucial role in building an innovation-driven ecosystem in the GCC, offering not only funding but strategic support to foster creativity and entrepreneurship. Collaboration between philanthropic entities, government, and businesses is essential to achieving long-term, sustainable growth. Education and skills development, particularly in technology, remain key areas where philanthropic investments can make a lasting impact. A huge thank you to all the panelists for their inspiring insights and to the Pearl Initiative for organizing such an important discussion. Continuous Improvement Beyond Profit: A Proud Collaboration with Capital vzw Today, I’m excited to share my experience leading a dedicated team of consultants from TriHD Belgium on the first phase of a continuous improvement initiative with the inspiring NGO, CAPITAL vzw/asbl Through our TriFinance Belgium for Impact program, we’re committed to making a positive social impact. Our consultants contribute their time and expertise during non-billable periods to support small-scale social organizations and startups, fostering empowerment through shared knowledge and resources. This initiative aims to create sustainable partnerships with NGOs that align with our values. It's a true win-win: our consultants gain valuable experience, and clients receive our services at no cost. Working alongside Capital and its dynamic founder, Hassan Al Hilou, has profoundly influenced my approach to leadership and project management. Capital’s mission resonates deeply with me: they believe in a sustainable and inclusive society where everyone, regardless of their socioeconomic background, religion, orientation, or gender, has the opportunity to grow. I’m proud to be part of this journey and look forward to what lies ahead! Thank you Leonard De Blende, Tom Vanderstraeten, Maaike Malfliet, Jana Van de Velde, Jana Wittemans, Oumaïma E., Eva Nelissen for the great collaboration! 🌟 #ContinuousImprovement #SocialImpact #NGOs #CorporateSocialResponsibility #TriFinanceForImpact #Leadership #ProjectManagement #InclusiveSociety #SustainablePartnerships #ProfessionalDevelopment #ConsultingForGood #ImpactfulWork

We Mr Price Foundation stepped into 2025 and the final quarter of FY25 laser-focused on our current goals. But as we pause and reflect on where we’ve been and where we are, we’re also looking ahead with intention and purpose. This week, we held our FY26 Operations Planning session, expertly facilitated by Natasha Moloantoa and Lita Currie. This wasn’t just another planning meeting—it marked the beginning of a transformative journey. We’re taking our ambitious 10-year strategy and investment thesis (which we’ll share more about in due course) and translating it into actionable, operational, and tactical plans. But here’s the thing: none of this happens without the right people and partnerships (communities, employer partners, funders, corprates, donors, customers, etc.). We’re building a high-performance team and purpose-led collaborations that will drive this vision forward. At the core of everything we do is our mission to empower South Africa’s youth through skills development, #entrepreneurship, and education—because their potential is our purpose. As the saying goes, “Strategy without tactics is just a dream.” But I’d take it a step further: without the right culture, strategy remains just a thought. It’s the people, the passion, and the partnerships that breathe life into our plans and turn aspirations into impact. We are a 20-year old NGO with a PBO status, and also trusted with by large oeganisations such as Mr Price Group Anglo American The SPAR Group Ltd CHEP and many others. 🙏🏾 We'll be coming to you for fundraising and partnering to innovatively scale our high impact programmes 💪🏾. If you're a corporate that's keen to: 1️⃣ Invest/ deploy/ allocate your SED funds, let's partner! 2️⃣ Co-create new/ existing youth empowerment programmes on cost-sharing basis, let's talk! Together 🫱🏻🫲🏽, we can take bold steps to create impact that matters—one plan, one action, and one partnership at a time. 🙌🏾 Yurissa Sawers Pain Mashingaidze Duduzile Mathabela Rorisang Rathebe Karen Wells nondumiso khuzwayo Pierre Tostee Zizo Mambumba Erica Esbend Kaelin Pillay Raven Maharaj Siphelele Ngesi

Is philanthropy evolving to create greater impact through collaboration and systems thinking? We caught up with Mr. Benedict Cheong, Chief Systems Integration Officer at Temasek Trust, to explore how these principles are reshaping sustainable development. Mr. Cheong shared insights into how Asian philanthropy has shifted towards outcomes-based giving, with a focus on measurable impact. Systems thinking can be the natural next iteration. Using education as an example, he explained how systems thinking connects individual interventions – such as teacher training, curriculum development, and policy advocacy – into a cohesive strategy for long-term success. By addressing the root causes of complex issues and fostering collaboration across sectors, this approach amplifies collective impact for communities worldwide. Watch the full video below to discover why systems thinking is crucial for transforming philanthropy in Asia and driving sustainable, large-scale change. 🌏💡 The Philanthropy Asia Alliance is a Temasek Trust initiative to drive collaborative philanthropy.
