At the end of 2023, three important reports were released that are relevant to the Australian philanthropic and international development sector:👇 1. Koda Capital’s Philanthropy & Social Capital team released ‘Philanthropy and Beyond – Building an Impactful Life’ that identifies avenues for weaving purpose and impact into all aspects of life - above and beyond traditional philanthropy: https://lnkd.in/gNu6-eVR 2. The 2023 GivingLarge Corporate Giving Report was released. The research, conducted annually by Strive Philanthropy, analyses publicly available reports, compiling their disclosed community investment figures in the collation of a unique data set, highlighting corporate Australia’s efforts in this area: https://lnkd.in/gyUjDxqW 3. Noble Ambition partnered with Australia’s largest INGO, World Vision Australia, to investigate the question: ‘How can we grow Australian philanthropic investment in international development to achieve greater scale and impact?’. 🎯 Impact measurement is a moving target. That's why we're committed to continuously improving our models. Since 2023, we've gained some useful insights and made updates accordingly. Here's a peek at what we've learned: 1️⃣ Impact estimates should not be the only investment criteria. 2️⃣ Nonprofits often struggle to understand their own impact — philanthropies can provide needed support. 3️⃣ Relative income increase is a useful metric, especially when comparing projects internationally.
