The Nevada Division of Emergency Management / Homeland Security (DEM) is actively recruiting for a Rural and Frontier Emergency Management Coordinator.
The Rural and Frontier Emergency Management Coordinator will report to the Resource Management Supervisor in the Division. Duties will include programmatic support to the DEM’s geographic region 3 (North Eastern Nevada region) developing relationships with, and providing technical support to, primarily rural and frontier emergency managers; coordinate and provide technical assistance to area Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT); support all DEM sections as a liaison to these emergency managers; provide support to the Intrastate Mutual Aid Committee, provide programmatic support on the understanding and implementation of the NIMS/Preparedness Framework; and provide administrative support to the Preparedness section when available and needed. Programmatic and previous emergency management experience preferred.
Candidate must be willing to reside in, or nearby, Elko and travel 50% of the time. Compensation is $29.56/hour
Activation as a member of the Nevada Emergency Operations Center may be necessary in the event of a major emergency until the Operations Center has been deactivated. This may alter or totally change previously established duties and work schedules until the emergency is over.
