WHAT IS VENETIAN PLASTER?
This is a question I get asked often, which is why I chose to create this video showing the whole process.
https://lnkd.in/g8bCfniv
Venetian plaster is not render, it is not paint, it is natural lime based plaster with marble dust, yes real marble crushed into fine dust!
Basically you are creating a real marble wall with only 2-3mm thickness.
IS IT EXPENSIVE?
YES, it is more expensive than paint, more expensive than render and normal solid plaster but a lot cheaper than using a custom marble piece.
For this video I used Marmorino fine, which is not as shinny and reflective as the high polished version.
However, the Marmorino finish can not be replicated with anything else, that's why every single wall is a unique piece itself.
I hope you guys enjoy the video and learn something from it.

Stone: Fieldstone - Aspen
This is a unique stone veneer that mimics the appearance of natural stone.
Fieldstone has random angles, naturally irregular shapes, and a rugged surface texture.
It adds rustic charm and curb appeal to any exterior project.
STONE SPECIFICATIONS:
LENGTH: 5” TO 15”
HEIGHT: 1” TO 15” approx.
THICKNESS: 1” TO 2” approx
It is not uncommon for the folding tops of antique card tables to warp over time and not sit flat on the base anymore. This occurs when the groundwork (wood) the veneer is secured onto loses its shape (often due to drying out in modern houses) and it is impossible to press back into shape without the risk of splitting the wood and therefore the veneer as well.
The only remedy is to remove the baize from the inside surface of the top and then carefully remove the old warped groundwork to within a few millimetres of the top veneer. Once completed a new flat groundwork can be glued into place and the inside of the top re-bazed. The repair is hidden underneath the new baize and the result is a flat stable top, sittiing perfectly on base.
The table in the photos is a perfect example of how secessful this can be and we were lucky in that the baize needed to be replaced anyway, so had to be removed. This is a tricky procedure but well worth the time and effort to make the table usable again.
Basalt stone is timeless, and its finishes make all the difference! Which of these do you prefer?
1️⃣ Flamed – Textured and rugged, ideal for outdoor applications.
2️⃣ Honed – Smooth and matte for a modern, understated look.
3️⃣ Polished – Sleek and glossy, adding a luxurious touch.
