Want to achieve your fitness goals faster? Get a coach! Some of my sequences feel rough as I get back into contortion training. My drop back in this video especially. I could have improved it on my own, but I knew that if I found the right coach, I could improve it faster. So, I went looking... The first coach I tried was very good at her craft but mainly taught static stretching in class, whereas I knew I needed more active work. This week, I tried another coach. The lesson was more productive than I expected. She was very good at explaining the technique I needed to change, and I can't wait to put what I learned into practice. If you're struggling with your flexibility goals, try a coach! Just remember: ✅ Not all coaches will be a good fit. ✅ Teaching is a different skill than doing the skill. ✅ You need someone that can do the thing and teach. Celebrating 2 weeks of starting a new fitness journey with my husband Brett Lim!🏋️🏃♀️ I've been meaning to get a personal trainer to help with form, routine planning, and accountability. So I finally booked a consultation with Mac, who gently guided us through a full-body strength training workout. It's only been 2 sessions but I already feel the impact of training muscles that I otherwise would not exercise on my own. Honestly, I would just hit the treadmill a couple of times a week if left to my own devices. Having a trainer and an accountability partner ensures that I do things in the proper order, using the right form so I don't hurt myself, and actually follow through with the routine. Guilty as charged, and I've been there too, especially when I was just starting in the industry. We come across a flashy or challenging exercise, and the instant reaction is, "I want to try this and include it in my workouts." But why? Honestly, it's a bit unclear. Taking a moment to reflect on your current training program and asking, "Why am I doing this specific exercise?" can be enlightening. If your answer is something like "because it's hard," maybe it's time to reconsider that exercise. When mentoring new trainers, I always emphasize that every exercise they include for a client should serve a purpose. Without purpose, it's like throwing grenades and hoping to hit something. Always remember, each exercise should have a clear purpose, bringing you closer to your fitness goals! 💪🤔 #PurposefulTraining #ExerciseGoals #TrainWithIntent
