Next Speaker of RDF24 is announced as…… The Research and Development Forum is delighted to announce that Carolyn Maloney CMgr MCMI from University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust will be presenting the session "Maintaining Civility and Respect when under pressure!" at RDF24. Carolyn said “During August 2023 I experienced unpleasant, unnecessarily aggressive and rude communication from several different sources external to the Trust. It had been necessary to notify a number of external bodies of an intention to temporarily pause recruitment on a number of trials while we investigated an internal system failure. The type of responses were surprising, but included unnecessarily aggressive language. I was even more distressed to learn that the approaches I’d received were not unusual and that our study teams were used to this type of communication. It’s time to change! Consider how your language and behaviour impacts on others. We’re here to deliver the best trials for our patients. Let’s be kind to each other at the same time!” This presentation will share how to call out ‘bad’ behaviour without feeling fear, identify different approaches, and help attendees gain courage and confidence. The two certifications specifically designed for navigators stand out and honor the unique role and specialty skills of navigation.
