Imagine what the impact would be on your family if you did not sort your Will before you died: - Your family don't know what your funeral or burial wishes are - Any children you have don't have guardians appointed for them and could end up in care - The family pets might have to go to a rehoming centre - Your unmarried partner isn’t provided for - Collections and gifts won't go to your intended beneficiaries - Any charities you want to support will miss out. There is a simple solution: Write a Will. Speak to Helen today and book an appointment to put your wishes on paper. #HelenLord #WillWriting #MakeAWill #ProtectYourFamily

Local registered charity helping young people to cope with the grieving process brought on by the death of someone they love.
It's International Day of Charity and as a small charity we are passionate about making a BIG impact... Last year... 💓 1,300 local children, young people and their parents/carers benefitted from 1:1 bereavement counselling and/or group activities 💓 153 professionals and parents/carers benefitted from bereavement and loss training to better support 100's of locally bereaved families 💓 177 of telephone advice and guidance was provided 💓 100% of children and their families that accessed support felt they had benefitted We received only 3% of our income from statutory sources (this is not definite for future years and is only for our Bassetlaw service). The other 97% relies on donations from the community, corporates, and Trusts. Our events and challenges are a crucial part of these donations, raising the funds we need to continue to operate and support local children and their families during one of the most devastating times in their lives. Thank you to everyone who continues to support our small charity. Please see our website to see upcoming events and challenges: https://lnkd.in/ev-jeHA7 #Internationaldayofcharity

✍ Having an up-to-date Will is crucial for financial planning. Not only can a will legally protect your partner, children and assets, but it can also spell out exactly how you would like things handled after you have passed on. Which is why we would like to draw your attention to this event. If you are interested, you can go to their website and fill out the form now 👇
Make a Will to make a difference 💚 By joining Make A Will Fortnight from Monday 07 – Sunday 20 October 2024, you can write or update your (simple) Will with a participating local solicitor for a suggested donation of £250. The solicitors will kindly donate the fee to Rowans Hospice. Legacy Gifts also have a huge impact on the Charity: Last year alone, one third of our income was derived from Gifts in Wills generously left to us by individuals. If you also decide to include a legacy gift to the Hospice, you will be helping to pay for expert teams to maximise comfort and maintain dignity for our patients. Request your appointment with a participating solicitor of your choice, including Cognitive Law Limited, Biscoes Solicitors, Larcomes Legal Limited and QualitySolicitors Large and Gibson. 👉 https://buff.ly/3CriBgA #LeaveALegacy #MakeAWillFortnight #RowansHospice #GiftInWill

Americans are generous, especially when disasters strike. In the wake of the devastation caused by Hurricanes Milton and Helene, the IRS is cautioning taxpayers that this is a prime time for scammers to use fake charities to target the public. IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel warned that “Too often, criminals take advantage of would-be donors’ kindness by stealing money and personal information from well-meaning taxpayers. You should never feel pressured by solicitors to immediately give to a charity.” To stay safe, research the authenticity of a charity before donating. By including charitable provisions in your estate plan, you can ensure your legacy extends far beyond your lifetime. Leaving a gift of 10% or more of the net estate value over the IHT threshold to charity can reduce the rate of Inheritance Tax payable on your estate from 40% to 36% #CharitableGiving #EstatePlanning #LeaveALegacy

It’s National Make a Will Month. And one way to do good after you’re gone is to support the good work of the Sisters of St. Benedict through a trust. Charitable remainder trusts allow you to receive a stream of income from the trust for the rest of your life. Then the assets in the trust go to the Sisters upon your passing, with zero estate tax. A charitable lead trust does the opposite. It provides income to the Sisters during your lifetime, so you can see the wonderful work you’re supporting. Then the assets in the trust go to your children or other beneficiaries at your passing. A Q-TIP Trust provides a stream of income to your spouse after you pass, with the assets in the trust then going to the Sisters at the death of your spouse. When you choose to leave a gift to the Sisters in your will, there are benefits for you and your family, too. There’s no estate tax on your gift, and no limit on the amount that you can donate. You also become a member of the St. Hildegard Society, a special group of people who have chosen to support the Sisters in this way. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/g2dFMS25.

Did you know October is free Wills month? What's stopping you from putting your Will in place? A recent survey* suggests only 40% of peoples in the UK have a Will. It's so important to think about who would look after your children if you weren't here and who you would want to benefit from your money. Don't leave it to the courts to decide, or your family to guess what you wanted. It's also lot easier than you think to put one in place, if you do nothing else in October, reach out to one of over 150 charities who are offering free wills in October (they would love it in exchange for small donations to the charity), every ones a winner. #freewillsmonth #holisticfinancialplanning *Source: IRN Wills and Probate research report
