Have you ever worked with a hybrid energy system (aka microgrid)? At H.E.A.T., we think you should be able to buy controllers for hybrid energy systems off the shelf, just like buying a solar PV inverter. But commissioning these systems is complex and can be challenging. Maybe you know this first hand and have a story to share? We have developed a standardized methodology for approaching such hybrid systems, and this short introductory video is meant to give you a taste. We talk about how island generators can be a way to understand the macro energy system in general. With our controller, and with this standardized methodology, you can roll out complex on-grid projects like a behind the meter solar + storage project with EV chargers and heat pumps that's doing stacked market applications (like at a factory). It can also help you roll out on-grid systems with islanding backup capabilities (like at a data center), or even just purely off-grid where stability and fuel avoidance is the name of the game (like at a mine or a remote hotel). Electrical Load Matching - Gas turbines often drive alternators to generate electricity. Sizing the alternator ensures that it can efficiently handle the electrical load demand of the system. If the alternator is undersized, it may not be able to produce enough electricity to power the required equipment, leading to system failures or inefficiencies.
