I push myself to do new things all the time- I was asked to do my first public speaking role a couple of months back and I jumped at it. It went really well, but the worst it could have gone was badly and that would have been it. Nothing is going to kill you.
I agree, most things we want are outside of our comfort zone, otherwise we would already have it!

1yTotally agree Phil, we learn loads from getting outside our comfort zones, many years ago I did a Chamber 'minute to win it' there were about 50 people in the room, I had a total mind blank out in the middle, couldn't remember what I was supposed to be saying, I got through it by saying that in my world I spend most of my time listening, that I wasn't used to speaking (got a laugh anyway!) So fast forward about 10 years and imagine how I felt when I was given the opportunity to do a TEDx talk, yes a little outside my comfort zone! But I was so pleased that i did it, because I learned so much from the experience and it has also become a great marketing tool for my business. Keep on stepping outside that zone!!
