Are you an employer operating in a "priority" sector? What is a "priority" sector? As with any public sector regulator, the Fair Work Ombudsman has limited resources. So each financial year, the FWO sets its regulatory priorities for the coming year. This years it's priority sectors are: • agriculture • aged care services • disability support services • fast food, restaurants and cafés • building and construction • large corporates The document below explains the FWO's priorities for the 2024-2025 year. BTW - just because you are an employer that is not in one of these industries, doesn't mean its a free for all for you. The FWO can and does investigate complaints of Fair Work Act contraventions outside these sectors and proceedings for contraventions can still be commenced by unions and individual employees, even if the FWO won't. ---- Please feel free to repost this post by tapping the 🔁 button below if you think your connections would enjoy it. #employmentlaw #humanresources #pointyendofhr
