What are users looking for when they follow #travelbrands on #socialmedia? 🤳 The hype cycle: The most popular reason from our Phocuswright research was that viewing content from travel brands helps get travelers excited about an upcoming trip. 🤳 Tracking promotions: 37% of travelers who follow brands do it so they can spot deals -- are you weaving enough info about promotions into your social content? 🤳 Hot leads: 36% follow because they intend to book in the future. These are your folks you want content to entice in the near term. My biggest surprise from this part of the research? That nearly 1 in 3 (31%) of social media users who follow travel brands do it for a sense of nostalgia about their PAST trips. For them, content would be more effective at promoting longer-term loyalty than snagging a conversion in the near future.
