Obesity is a multifaceted issue that our society is dealing with and it is never discussed. Whatever proposals there are to bring down the obesity levels seem to be all talk with zero action & hypothetical scenarios to simply educate people on obesity rather than directly addressing the root causes of a diet lacking nutrients and the availability of nutrient dense food to certain populations. I could not even find any updated information so who knows the levels at which American adults are obese in 2024, not to mention the prevalence of childhood obesity… this is actually insane! What is actually being done to prevent this 100% preventable disease that is silently killing Americans. As a public health graduate and nutrition advocate and coach this is actually mind boggling that as a society we’ve been let down so hard & there is nothing being done to address this public health threat. 40+ states in the US where a minimum of 35% of the adult population is obese #obesityepidemic #americansareobese #publichealththreat #obesityispreventable #publichealthscience

At the global population level, we are living 19 years longer today compared to 1960. However, this is not paralleled by increased years in good health, meaning we are living longer in ill health than ever before. #healthyaging #globalhealth

On this World Obesity Day, Glenmark acknowledges the need and encourages conversation around the global health challenges of obesity and the increasing prevalence of diabetes. This year's theme, "Let's Talk About Obesity And...", encourages open dialogue to raise awareness and explore solutions. Obesity significantly raises the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, with over 90% of individuals with diabetes being overweight or obese. This underscores the importance of addressing obesity to prevent diabetes. Both obesity and diabetes impact individuals, families, and communities worldwide, emphasizing the need for collective action. By fostering discussions, advocating for change, and promoting healthier lifestyles, we can work together to mitigate the effects of obesity and diabetes and enhance overall health outcomes for everyone. Let's take a step forward by sparking conversations about obesity and diabetes for #ANewWayForANewWorld. #Glenmark #WorldObesityDay #LetsTalk #Obesity #Diabetes #HealthAwareness
