Growing up, we were made to see mistakes as our proof of failure. So we rather not try anything new than fail at it. Last week, in my class, I spoke to my learners about this, and they are excited about the freedom to explore their potential and their uniqueness (within the boundaries of acceptable values). I was super excited when I found this image on pinterest and decided to make my learners creatively craft it on our wall. Yes, I enjoy teaching as well as I enjoy leadership consulting, human development, entrepreneurship and social impact. #Grow #EffectiveLeadership #LeadershipDevelopment

👀 From a 2.3 GPA to Co-Founding a Million-Dollar Startup – How Resilience and Purpose Can Change Everything 👀 I had the privilege of speaking to a group of young professionals at Trimont yesterday, and it was truly inspiring! 🙌 We delved into topics like leadership, resilience, and finding purpose, and I shared my journey of going from a 2.3 GPA in college to co-founding and scaling WriteSea to $1M+ in revenue. From the moment we connected, Trimont’s team was committed to making this event impactful. The engagement from everyone, especially during the Q&A, made for an enriching experience. We discussed pivotal topics such as: 1. Build leadership skills at any stage 2. Embrace rejection as a stepping stone, not a setback 3. Navigating career challenges with resilience 4. Setting clear goals and taking actionable steps 5. Building meaningful relationships through purpose-driven networking A huge thank you to the Trimont team (Nicola Thompson, GPHR, MSc, Jeff Bolte, Hailey Hines, David Friedman, Matthew Dreilinger, Mattie Stroud) for having me, and to everyone who participated for your energy and insightful questions. 🌟 If you’d like to watch the full keynote presentation, drop your email in the comments, and I’ll send over the recording! 📧 #SpeakingEngagement #Leadership #CareerGrowth #YoungProfessionals #Trimont #Networking PS. Reunion : Leadership and the longing to Belong . In his second book, Reunion, Jerry explores how his process of radical self-enquiry can also be applied to how we deal with systemic inequalities in the world. Building on the success of Reboot and the concept of radical self-inquiry, executive coach Jerry Colonna encourages leaders to consider the ways they have been complicit in, and benefitted from, the conditions in the world they say they’d like to change and shows them the path to creating new systems of inclusion for everyone. Hey everyone! 🌟 I've had the incredible opportunity to dive into several courses offered by the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) in 2023, and I just can't keep this experience to myself! 🚀 YLAI, an initiative by the U.S. Department of State, has been a game-changer for me and many others, offering a treasure trove of online courses and training materials. These resources cover a wide range of topics, including leadership, business, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and public management, all taught by esteemed U.S. university professors and field experts. The best part? You can take these courses at your own pace, individually or with a group, making learning flexible and accessible no matter where you are in your journey. 📚✨ What I truly love about YLAI's offerings is how they empower emerging entrepreneurs and leaders like us to drive economic and social progress in our communities. The blend of technical entrepreneurship training and leadership development, particularly through the collaboration with Arizona State University and IREX, provides a solid foundation for anyone looking to elevate their game. 🌱 As we step into 2024, I'm crossing my fingers and hoping YLAI expands its course offerings even further. Imagine having even more resources at our fingertips to tackle the challenges and opportunities in our entrepreneurial and civic endeavors! 🌍💡 For those of you who haven't checked out YLAI's courses yet, I highly encourage you to do so. It's a golden opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with a vibrant network of like-minded individuals. Let's make the most of these resources and continue to inspire and uplift one another. 💫 Remember, every step we take in learning and development not only shapes our future but also the future of our communities. So, let's dive in, explore, and push the boundaries of what's possible together! 🚀🌈 Check out the courses here: YLAI Online Courses and let's keep the conversation going. Who knows? Maybe your feedback and enthusiasm will be the nudge YLAI needs to introduce even more incredible courses this year! 🎉📈 #Learning #Growth #YLAI#Empowerment #Entrepreneurship #Leadership #CommunityBuilding #HopeForMoreIn2024 🌟

What makes Oceanside, CA one of the best towns to live in? Most people think of the sunshine and the beach, but it’s the programs to help residents and businesses that are the unsung gems. The Oceanside Chamber of Commerce started the Oceanside Leadership Academy, an 8-week course with a weekly workshop from a leader in the community. I think these sessions will be transformative for understanding how local leaders from different industries navigate roles in companies, government, entrepreneurship and nonprofits. Here are all the great sessions I’m excited to attend: Session 2 - Leadership in the Military - Col. Daniel Whitley, USMC (Going to visit Camp Pendleton. First time for me on a military base.) Session 3 - Leadership in Municipal Government - Peter Weiss, Oceanside Councilmember Session 4 - Leadership in STEM related fields - Nazeli Dertsakian, VP and General Manager, Operations at Genentech Session 5 - Leadership in the Non-Profit Sector - Jodi Diamond, CEO at Boys and Girls Club of Oceanside Session 6 - Leadership in Tourism/Hospitality - Leslee Gaul, CEO at Visit Oceanside Session 7 - Leadership in Education - Dr. Kristen Huyck, MiraCosta College Session 8 - Entrepreneurial Leadership - Kevin Shin - Local Restaurant Owner I don’t think of myself as a leader, but every business owner has to be one. Solopreneurs have to be good at wearing a lot of different hats to be successful. This professional development opportunity will help me learn from local leaders who are experts at what they do and make me a better leader for my own business. This Saturday kicks off the first session with Benjamin Gamboa, the Associate Dean of Career Education at MiraCosta College. I look forward to learning about how leadership changes over time, adaptability, and having clarity in a diverse organization. My business MP Storytelling helps people create impact through great storytelling. Whether you’re an artist, small business or nonprofit, I can create a memorable story that shares your passion and unique talent. Get in touch today to create a story that stands out!
