We went VIRAL 📣 on TikTok... ...promoting a feature that's still in beta 🙃 😅 The post was a perfect use case for Qatch's REQUEST feature after our co-founder Raquel Phillips binged Netflix's "Nobody Wants This" and loved the main character's outfit. It amassed over 1.2M organic views and while it's not the first post of ours to go viral, we didn't expect/anticipate how much viewers would love the new feature. We built this feature as a direct response to thousands of members texting us photos and asking us to help them find similar outfits, but more personalized to their own style. Last week I posted about Qatch's new outfit image request feature going viral. This week, Perplexity announced their new shopping feature, including image search 🛍️ 🤯 #Investors have reached out asking for my thoughts and I wanted to share why Raquel Phillips and I are even MORE excited about our direction with Qatch in light of this news... Market validation. We already knew a tool like this was needed because our members told us to build it for them. Seeing some of the biggest innovators in #AI taking similar steps validates our belief that the next wave of e-commerce is being built today, and we're part of it. Prioritizing implicit preferences over prompt engineering. If you're looking for an exact match of an image, tools like Google Lens are great. But what about an outfit that inspired you, but isn't quite YOU? Qatch bridges the gap. Users don't have to describe their own preferences, favorite brands, and browsing and shopping history in a prompt. Style is too personal. I love that we can tap into over 1 billion preference data points from our #SMS recommendations to individualize request results. And we do this without any extra lift from the consumer. TechCrunch and other industry publications have pointed out that trust will play a key role in the success of these tools. The best recommendations still come from someone you know and who knows you -- building personal relationships with every user is hard and often not prioritized. And then… the new brief drops: “Let’s pivot. We want the brand to feel more… spontaneous. Like, if it were a person, maybe a free-spirited minimalist who owns five houses and never wears the same outfit twice.” So here we go again: edgy but friendly, exclusive yet approachable, iconic and humble—basically, the Beyoncé of toothpaste. Every meeting, we’re peeling back layers of a brand’s soul that we made up last week. By now, our brand has gone through more transformations than a reality TV star, and its “true self” has more plot twists than a soap opera. I love seeing more realistic representation of women's issues in media. It's refreshing to see marketers starting to question how censoring periods actually benefits their consumers. The recent campaign by Bodyform UK is a powerful example, and I feel touched by the creative use of an orchestra to illustrate the flow. As someone who has questioned herself because of how “normal” periods are often portrayed in other women’s experiences, this campaign truly resonates. All in all, it’s refreshing to see how marketers are questioning how censorship/playing it safe in ANY topic truly benefits the consumer. I like the direction things are going, seeing original content from sources we never thought would go in that direction. I recently had the chance to see two AMAZING women in music: Sheryl Crow and Pink.🤩 But the difference between their sets was HUGE. Sheryl Crow, despite being a legend, was hard to enjoy because her sound was off.  Her voice and energy just didn’t hit the mark... Honestly, I would’ve fired her tech team.😂 Then Pink came on, and WOW, the sound was electric, the energy was through the roof, and the entire stadium was alive.🔥 What made the difference? The sound. Pink’s team nailed it.👌🏻 It got me thinking: your brand or performance can be amazing, but without the right support, your message might not land. In marketing, that could be your tools, your platforms, or your team. Even the best product or service can fall flat without the right execution. So take a look at your marketing.
