Meet Melissa, a Caregiver from our Jefferson City, MO region! We asked Melissa, “What gives you the passion to do what you do?” She replied, “Caring for others.” We also asked her, “Why Home Care & Why Phoenix?” Melissa answered ”I chose home care because most clients cannot do it for themselves. I chose Phoenix because they care.” We asked "What does the X-Factor mean to you?" (The X-Factor is the personal and professional abilities of our nurses and caregivers to use their experience, orientation to serve, skill set, optimism, passion & honesty to bring the very best care to our clients and their families.) Melissa said, "The X-Factor to me means dependable. My clients always know I will be there. My skill and passion make their day." Melissa says she doesn't have much time outside of work, but when she does, spending quality time with family is her priority. She loves to go camping and kayaking with them. Melissa has worked in home care for 10 years, bringing valuable experience and passion to each interaction with our clients. We love your caring heart, Melissa, and are proud to have you on team Phoenix!

Dame Cicely Saunders, pioneer of modern hospice care, beautifully encapsulated our mission by saying: "You matter because you are you, and you matter to the end of your life. We will do all we can not only to help you die peacefully, but also to live until you die." Dame Saunders, a nurse and social worker, revolutionized end-of-life care by focusing on comfort, dignity, and holistic support for terminally ill patients and their families. In hospice care, we carry this torch forward. How do you bring Dame Cicely Saunders' philosophy to life in your daily work?
