Radiant Industries Visit at Photonis Nuclear Instrumentation facilities the 10th of December, 2024. We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Matt Wilson, Director of Operations from Radiant at our Brive premises. This meeting strengthened the ties between our two companies, while providing an opportunity to discuss our respective technologies and expertise. A rich and inspiring program During the visit, our teams presented our latest innovations in the field of nuclear detection. With particular interest paid to our new range of products, which perfectly meets current technological challenges in the advanced reactor space, particularly for high temperature application. A fruitful exchange for the future This moment of exchange allowed us to deepen our mutual understanding of the challenges of our respective markets and to identify opportunities for collaboration. At Photonis, part of Exosens, we are convinced that strategic partnerships, such as the one with Radiant, are essential to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation. We warmly thank Matt Wilson for his visit and his keen interest in our technologies. We look forward to continuing this exchange and building future solutions together. #NetZero #AMR #Radiant #Photonis #Exosens #Nuclear #Renaissance

2024 was once again a record year for Bertin Technologies, rich in challenges and collective successes ! A record year, because we now count almost 1,000 employees (what a milestone 😀 !) and are growing from 132 million euros revenue in 2023 to 180 million in 2024. Rich in challenges and collective successes, including, to name just a few: - The acquisition of two companies in Nuclear sector (Icohup, VF, a.s.), opening up new perspectives and ambitions for 2025. In particular, we aim to build the largest reference center for #radiation detection, essential to the #sovereignty of the #nuclear industry in Europe, and thus confirm our support for the sectors of decarbonized energy production and #environmental protection. - The acquisition in July of Bertin Alpao, who is one of the world leader in adaptative optics, bringing new high tech products to the global Photonic portfolio of Bertin Group. - The very group global performance of our nordics colleagues (Bertin Exensor in England and Sweden and Bertin Environics in Finland) both in term of new order received and global delivery to the customer. - New technological innovations such as the Multi-Tissue Dissociation Kit for our lab customers. - An ISO 19443 Certification, this international standard that has become a standard in the nuclear sector. I'm particularly proud of the past year, of how far we've come, and of the opportunities still to be explored in the new year! Dear partners and customers, you can count on us to face together the major challenges of our world (and there is a lot currently). Thank you to all those without whom the company would not have developed as spectacularly as it did in 2024, and I wish you all every success in 2025! And most important : I wish you all a nice and peacefull year for you and all your relatives in 2025. Take a minute to see this nice video !

Our FLARE system is a prime example of what Greg Piefer discussed at the #TOFE2024 plenary: finding immediate applications for fusion tech. It's not just about future energy production, but building expertise and investor confidence through practical uses today. This stepwise approach could be key to fusion's long-term success.
I'm proud to announce our latest fusion product offering: FLARE™ (Fusion Linear Accelerator for Radiation Effects). Our FLARE technology completely changes the game for both single event and accumulated damage radiation effects testing. FLARE uses the world's most powerful continuous fusion system, capable of producing 50 trillion 14.1 MeV neutrons per second--the brightest steady state source by ~1000 times. We've developed this after more than a decade of research and development focused on commercial applications of fusion. Our DT fusion systems will improve the safety and sustainability of our world by: -ensuring defense electronics can survive and operate in harsh battlefield environments -aiding the development of civilian electronics that can operate more reliably in space and on the ground -providing fusion energy researchers much better tools to assess component damage and breeder design Our new capability has been proven to reduce component test times from months to days, and will greatly speed the iterative design and test process. We'll be showcasing this capability both at the upcoming ANS #TOFE2024 meeting and at the IEEE Nuclear & Space Radiation Effects Conference #NSREC2024. So proud of our team and what they've done to make fusion add value today in pursuit of our plans to completely change the way humans make energy. SHINE ON!! https://lnkd.in/gST5puMq

🔦 👀 Although this #StateAid instrument is not new, Important Projects of Common European Interest (#IPCEI) have recently received a lot more attention due to their prominence in the Letta and Draghi reports 📚 🗓 On 17 October, the fifth technical meeting of the Joint European Forum on IPCEIs took place in Brussels. I had the good fortune to co-represent Portugal🇵🇹 🎯🎯 In the identification work stream, discussions are taking place on possible IPCEIs on circular advanced materials for clean technologies, nuclear energy, the computing continuum for artificial intelligence, EU-wide edge computing infrastructure and services, and advanced semiconductor technologies 🧠 💰 EU co-financing of IPCEIs, the use of the #GBER in the context of IPCEIs and IPCEI governance have also been discussed🧭 🤖 It is indeed a privilege to be part of these #future shaping discussions! 🌍

Best invest in Building and talking about Fusion power, space, maritime propulsion systems and industry as data centres are. Great Headline, Guardian on Nuclear fission. https://lnkd.in/g8sMZtpR People talk about Nuclear (meaning Fission) and fail to discuss fusion. https://lnkd.in/ge_aeX7M The nuclear fission industry is ignorant of what's happening around it. It must pull its collective uranium heads out of the sand and prepare to enter the commercially growing fusion energy industry. Fission is moving towards obsolescence at an ever-increasing pace, as it is "out of step, out of time, out of place, and soon to be out of Fuel" and merely temporary. https://lnkd.in/gbd_mZqk By 2028, Helion is expected to start producing electricity from its first fusion commercial power plant, which will provide electricity to Microsoft. The plant will produce at least 50 MWe after an initial ramp-up period. https://lnkd.in/gY9J3MQY Now, see what is happening in the world of the fusion industry. https://lnkd.in/g9hMBD7a As fission trebles, fuel shortage is increasingly real, https://lnkd.in/gze5rwpr

National Lab Demonstrates Semiconductor Can Survive Near a Nuclear Reactor - https://lnkd.in/dETKkk-R New research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) demonstrated that gallium nitride #semiconductors can successfully withstand the harsh environment near a #nuclear #reactor #core. The discovery may make it possible to place electronic components closer to sensors in an operating reactor leading to more precise and accurate measurements and more compact designs. These findings could one day lead to the use of wireless sensors within nuclear reactors, including advanced small modular and microreactor designs currently under development.

🎉 Excited to share our latest work now available on arXiv: "Coherent Control of a Long-Lived Nuclear Memory Spin in a Germanium-Vacancy Multi-Qubit Node". For the first time, we demonstrate coherent control of a 13C nuclear spin coupled to a germanium-vacancy (GeV) center in diamond, marking a significant milestone for group-IV color centers, extending beyond the well-known silicon-vacancy (SiV). 🌟 We achieved a coherence time of 2.5 seconds, the longest ever reported for a controllable nuclear spin with group-IV defects, and predict a quantum memory time of up to 18.1 seconds. This advancement is crucial for developing robust quantum repeater nodes, opening new possibilities for long-distance quantum communication. A big thank you to our collaborators from Jülich Forschungszentrum for their valuable theoretical insights, and our incredible team in Ulm for the hard work! 🙌 Check out the full paper here:
