It was an honor to speak at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Immunization Conference and connect with healthcare leaders doing amazing work nationwide on immunization.     A few highlights from the conference:     - This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Vaccines for Children (VFC)’s program, which ensures all children have access to life-saving vaccines. As a pediatrician, this program is near and dear to my heart as it allowed my pediatric practice to provide vaccines to our young patients. I am humbled to be reminded of and to have seen firsthand the historic impact of this program.     - If providers are confident they will be reimbursed for vaccinating patients, this supports uptake. Why? Without this reassurance, many providers can’t recoup costs and are forced to opt out. With the rollout of newer vaccines (such as the herpes zoster, or the shingles vaccine and the RSV vaccine), lack of reimbursement to vaccinating providers could serve as a barrier for providers to offer newer vaccines.     - Immunizing our communities to protect them from vaccine-preventable disease is truly a team sport. I was inspired by initiatives that span from the grassroots to federal levels with a common goal of getting more people vaccinated. I’m so proud of the work that Phreesia is doing to support patients and providers to help them have the critical conversations they need to boost vaccination rates.
