I'm working 4 days a week. And it's not because I'm a mom (and therefore, like so many moms, having the privilege to cut my salary by 20%), but because it has been the new policy at Weglot for the past 7 months, for everybody. We all work 4 days a week instead of 5, under the same conditions. Sure, it requires a hell of a good organization, efficiency, productivity. But it is so much worth it. This ratio is better for our mental health and enables us to make simple things : taking care on kids on a Wednesday, taking a medical appointment in the middle of the day, or taking sport lessons. Kudos to Meryl Csibra our People Team Lead who has created the frame in which we can have such a freedom (legally, organizationally etc.) and to Augustin P. and Rémy Berda who happen to be the end decision makers of such a cool corporate decision ! As this week is #CarersWeek, it is important to consider the different responsibilities that employees have, juggling caring needs of others with their responsibilities at work. At Maxwell Hodge, we have different policies in place to support employees and make their caring responsibilities that little bit easier. This includes: ✔ Paid Dependants Leave ✔ Flexible Working ✔ Homeworking There is still more to be done to support employees but we have found that offering paid dependants leave has been of great assistance to our people, particularly for taking dependants to medical appointments, so that they don't have to worry about using annual leave or unpaid leave.
