What Do You Know About the Turkish Dairy Industry? Yesterday I presented information about CYBERTONGUE® Technology at the DairyOlympics in Ankara, the capital city of Türkiye. They say that one should listen more than talk, so I have also been doing a lot of listening. Here is what I have learned: Turkish (per capita) consumption of dairy products is high, on a par with North America and not very far behind Northern Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Türkiye is the world's ninth largest milk producer and 14th largest milk processor. This reflects the fact that approximately half of Türkiye's milk is delivered to a processor and the other half is consumed on or close to the farm. Furthermore, Türkiye produces a net surplus of milk, which is available for export. 🌾 Indonesia is Advancing Biofortification & Food Diversification for the Next 20 Years! 🌾 Indonesia has taken a groundbreaking step toward enhancing national health and nutrition with two pivotal policies that will shape biofortification and food diversification for the next two decades! 📜 🇮🇩 The Indonesian Law on the Long-term National Development Plan 2024-2045 (Law No. 59, 2024) establishes a 20-year framework prioritizing the production of biofortified crops and promoting local food diversification. Additionally, Presidential Decree No. 81, 2024 assigns BRIN (National Research and Innovation Agency) the task of advancing biofortification research across diverse crops. 🌾 Through collaboration with key government bodies like Bappenas, the Ministry of Agriculture, and BRIN, HarvestPlus has helped advocate for these transformative policies. Together, we're addressing hidden hunger and positioning biofortified crops as a national priority in Indonesia’s fight against malnutrition. 🎯 As these efforts scale up, we’re proud to support a future where nutritious, resilient food systems lead to healthier lives for millions of Indonesians, especially in rural areas. #Biofortification #FoodDiversification #IndonesianDevelopment #NutritionSecurity #HarvestPlus #HiddenHunger #BRIN #Bappenas #InnovationInAgriculture

We’re pleased to share New Zealand kiwifruit growers have supported the expansion of our counter-seasonal Zespri Global Supply (ZGS) programme via a Producer Vote. A total of 90.6% of voting growers and 93.29% by fruit weight voted in favour of the resolution to allocate up to 420 additional hectares of SunGold Kiwifruit per year over six years across Italy, France, Japan, South Korea and Greece. This result follows extensive discussions between Zespri and the industry to design a resolution that will enable Zespri to increase supply in line with forecast demand in the context of a positive outlook, but in an increasingly dynamic category. It’s a positive step forward towards our ambition to deliver 12-month supply to key customers in key markets, delivering strong grower returns and maintaining Zespri’s position as a global leader in kiwifruit.
