María González-Burgos sheds lights on some of the challenges women face in leadership roles, particularly in the Facilities Management field where intrinsic biases and gaps in professional opportunities are often a barrier. She emphasized the importance of intentional recruiting and developing a talent pipeline that supports women’s growth. “It is important to keep the momentum," says Maria. “Understand and use data to increase awareness of inclusion and diversity initiatives in the recruitment process of leadership roles that allow representation and growth within the organization." Maria actively supports women and minority communities through networking, mentorship, and involvement in organizations like LAESA (Latin-American Engineering Student Association), encouraging students to pursue STEM careers and promoting careers in FM. At Sodexo, powerful women's groups, like SoTogether empower women in facilities management through courses, certifications, and conferences. Maria calls for more allies to support women's advancement in leadership roles. Leaders can promote gender equality by mentoring, sponsoring, and tracking progress with inclusive metrics. Forth year Medical Student at BAYERO UNIVERSITY KANO. An enthusiast of New knowledge, Research and Transformational Leadership.
Let's talk about empowering the Next Generation I recently had the privilege of facilitating a session on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for high school students. It was an incredible experience, and I'm thrilled to share the highlights with you! Our interactive session aimed to introduce the 17 SDGs, exploring what they mean, why they matter, and how individual actions can contribute to achieving them. We discussed topics like climate action, gender equality, and quality education, sparking lively discussions and thought-provoking questions. The students left with a newfound understanding of the global challenges and opportunities that shape our world. They realized their potential to make a positive impact, both locally and globally. I witnessed a sense of empowerment and enthusiasm, as they began to envision their roles in creating a more sustainable future. You may be asking Why this Matters? As a aspiring Leader, I believe in the power of education and inspiring the next generation to drive positive change. The SDGs offer a framework for addressing pressing global issues, and it's crucial we involve young minds in the conversation. If you're passionate about empowering youth and driving sustainable development, let's connect! Share your experiences, ideas, and insights, and let's work together to create a brighter future for all.

Certified Diversity and Executive Coach | Neurodiversity in the Workplace Instructor | Systemic Team Coach | Speaker | Certified Diversity and Inclusion Professional
It was an honor to speak to the passionate youth leaders of the Southeast Asia Youth Leadership Program (SEAYLP) this week on building a more equal, inclusive world. SEAYLP brings together 50 high school students and 10 adult leaders from Southeast Asia to Northern Illinois University for a three-week leadership program, operated by the Center for Southeast Asian Studies in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. As I shared the latest sobering data on global inequalities, I was amazed by their drive to take local action. These students didn't just listen - they came with thought-provoking questions! Their commitment to driving positive change on critical issues like gender equality, women's empowerment, sustainable economies, and more gives me so much hope. This generation of #EqualityChampions has the vision and potential to create a more equitable world for all people. Investing in initiatives like SEAYLP that uplift diverse youth voices is key to achieving true equality. I'm grateful to the organizers and the SEAYLP Team for the opportunity to play a small role in empowering these future changemakers. The work has only just begun, but I'm inspired by the powerful difference this next generation will make. Who's ready to support them as they lead the way? P.S. I would like to express my extreme gratitude to Christine Jocson, Juliana Shrestha (Wedu organizers), my fellow panelist Naw Khine Thazin Ni Win and the SEAYLP Team for the opportunity to play a small role in empowering these future changemakers. P.P.S If you are interested in the Global Statistics I shared with them, you can check this flipbook: https://bit.ly/44oydiy #YouthLeadership #EqualOpportunity #SocialImpact #DiversityandInclusion #WomenEmpowerment #GenderEquality #EducationForAll #SEAYLP2024 Image description: A blurred photo of the participants of the webinar as a background. The company logo is in the middle and the text 'Future Equality Champions" surrounded by a red heart outline.

Global Leadership Summit 2024 Day 2 brought us deeper into various discussions, spanning from Gender Equality and Mental Health Awareness to exploring different avenues for increasing advocacy of SDGs. One key takeaway that resonated across all discussions was the imperative of fostering collaboration. Leveraging partnerships not only saves resources but also enables reaching a broader audience. Some individuals hesitate to collaborate, fearing they might be overshadowed. It's crucial to understand that what's meant for you will always find its way. Remember, at the end of the day, two heads are better than one! Let's opt for collaboration over competition to create a more significant impact in society. Looking forward to what the final day has in store😁 MAI Foundation ForbesBLK

🌟 Honoring Women & Girls in Science 🌟 On February 11, the world celebrated the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. This important date promotes full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls. Gender equality is vital for the achievement of the United Nations Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDG 5 (Gender Equality) is also one of Knorr-Bremse's five core SDGs. 👉 Knorr-Bremse believes that a diverse workforce is a critical factor in business success. That’s why we focus on recruiting qualified women and increasing their numbers in leadership roles. 🤝 We value female careers and support them wherever needed: with a great portfolio of flexibility measures and various offerings that help to achieve a work-life balance. In addition, our network Women@KB supports the career development of female employees. 💪We specifically promote young female talents with special internships for girls: for example with our participation in Girls’ Day and Girls for Technology Camp to pursue training in technical professions. Since 2004 we support as well the program „mentorING“, which strengthens female students at TUM Munich in the MINT sector. 🚀Keep pushing boundaries and inspiring the next generation of women in STEM! #WomenInScience #GirlsInSTEM #Diversity #TeamKnorrBremse
