Thank you to ieeexplore projects and Ashok Bindra for publishing our Oliver Ulibas article on the Rise and Limitations of Hybrid SuperCapacitors for AI Data Centers. In this open-access paper, Oliver explores the growing role of supercapacitors (also known as ultracapacitors) in energy storage fueled by advancements in materials science. Integrating cutting-edge nanomaterials like graphene and lithium-ion doping has significantly enhanced their performance and safety. Hybrid SuperCapacitors (HSCs) contain no metal oxides that pose a risk of thermal runaway—which can lead to failures and fires. Oliver also highlights the innovative HSC technology, which combines lithium-ion with electric double-layer capacitors (EDLCs) to outperform traditional battery solutions, including lithium-ion, VRLA, sodium, and zinc-based systems. While HSCs offer safe and reliable energy storage, they also come with certain limitations, which he discusses. Thank you again to IEEE Power Electronics Society! https://lnkd.in/gdZ-DvW3 #IEEE, #IEEEXplore and #OpenAccess #AI #EnergyStorage #HybridSuperCapacitors #Innovation #BatterySafety
