Popular seminar… 🔬 𝗟𝗨𝗠𝗜𝗔 (Luleå Material Imaging and Analysis) recently hosted a lunch seminar on advanced microanalysis. Over 70 participants from research and industry attended to learn about state-of-the-art techniques for analysing different types of materials. 🔬 𝗟𝗨𝗠𝗜𝗔 acts as a hub for the technical analytical capacity at Luleå University of Technology and this experimental environment is a creative meeting place for researchers, students, and companies. 🔬 𝗟𝗨𝗠𝗜𝗔 is expanding with two new WISE-funded laboratories —that will be unique to at least the Nordic countries— and collaborating with the research group in machine elements to optimize microanalytical operations at the university. WISE is an initiative from the Wallenberg foundation, focusing on materials science for sustainability. 📆 The seminar was part of a series of activities aimed at promoting research collaborations and spreading knowledge about material analysis. More seminars are planned, stay tuned. 🔗 Link to news flash in the comments. Erik Nilsson Fredrik Forsberg Mathis Warlo #LUMIA #WISE #microanalysis

I am excited to share a perspective on the much-needed topic of #safety for #selfdrivinglaboratories. As the field progresses, understanding the challenges and gaps in building safe setups will be crucial for scaling up this technology! Together with Varinia Bernales and the Matter at Lab at the University of Toronto, we provide an extensive survey of the field's state-of-the-art and key recommendations for future research. This is the first step on a long road to proper guardrails for these platforms. This project was spearheaded by Shi Xuan Leong, who put it together in record time with Caleb Griesbach, Ph.D. Rui Zhang, Kourosh Darvish Yuchi(Allan) Zhao Abhijoy Mandal Yunheng(Jackie) Zou and Han Hao. We are open to discussions with anybody in the world about the topic.
