Heave-compensated load pick-up and drop-down with the Eye Catcher and Chain Crane. The Eye Catcher is a remote-controlled crane hook that mechanically latches onto a standard lifting eye. Load release can only occur when the wireless remote control is activated AND the hook is unloaded. The color of the tool indicates its status; green signifies that the lifting eye is present AND the hook is secured, while blue signals an open hook so the Eye Catcher can be safely lifted off. This pre-production prototype has a capacity of 1.6 metric tons. The standard range will vary between 0.2 and 33 tons. The Chain Crane is in heave compensation mode and follows the vertical motions of the sensor (the small black box in the corner of the moving platform). #innovation #chaincrane #eyecatcher #offshore #chaindrivesystem #loadconnector

The Shark-Lock™ was designed and engineered by Andrew Demko. The Shark-Lock™ mechanism is situated on the spine of the knife and operated with a ramp-like ‘fin.’ Opening the blade makes the spring-driven lock arm move up and then into a notch in the tang, situating it beneath a lock pin. This range of movement is noteworthy. It’s unique in that the locking mechanism moves forward and back while also moving up and down. This allows for a greater-sized blade tang, making a better mechanical advantage in a specific area.
