Larger stones, such as this 8ct gem, are even rarer than their smaller counterparts. Many high-quality diamonds were recut over the years, further limiting the supply of original antiques. This stone is a remarkable find. Completely original, it exemplifies a typical early 19th-century diamond, meticulously hand-polished using a slow-moving wheel powered by a foot pedal.
