Mission: Advanced Road Safety 2019-2024 to bring down RTA Deaths that occur due to Unscientific Road Design & Improper Traffic Infrastrucures and Faulty Vehicle Architecture
Just ignore this advice of Mr. #DavidWard to discourage sales of SUVs in India, sighting Road Safety, #PMO and #MoRH This is an immature statement. He has no in-depth knowledge about Indian roads, Indian drivers and vehicles used on Indian roads. Not all SUVs sold in India are real SUVs with 4x4 (four wheel drive) transmission. Their body styling resembles a SUV. That's all. Let his knowledge be used in #GlobalNCAP tests inside the laboratory and not to comment on using more and more SUVs on Indian roads and highways. Infact, SUVs are more safer than sedans, saloons and hatch backs on Indian roads. Please read this book, Mr David Ward, for your information and to change your view point about increasing number of SUVs in India https://lnkd.in/gjTu9fK4 #Arai #officeofnitingadkari #NitinGadkari Ji #NarendraModi Ji #DavidWard

❓ Do you know what the Direct Vision Standard (#DVS) means for your fleet? ❓ The DVS is a key regulation designed to enhance road safety for vulnerable users, such as cyclists and pedestrians. 🌍 It ensures that HGV drivers have a better view of their surroundings, helping reduce accidents. Our latest blog covers: ✅ What the DVS is ✅ Why it matters for fleet operators ✅ How Truckfile can help you stay compliant 🔗 Ready to learn more? Q: What is Transport for London's Direct Vision Standard HGV Permit Scheme? A: The DVS is a rating scale that aims to reduce the number of fatal collisions involving HGVs and vulnerable road users, where lack of vision is a contributing factor. as you can clearly see in this video, Vehicle Design Needs To Change!!! It is designed to objectively measure a driver’s direct view through the windows of an HGV cab, and to define the level of risk to road users near the vehicle. This is expressed as a star rating from zero (poor) to five stars (good). TfL have developed the DVS in collaboration with expert researchers at Loughborough University, and the DVS industry working group, who provided their specialist expertise to inform the creation of the DVS and PSS. Research has shown that Direct Vision has a vital role to play in creating safer vehicles and safer urban environments, by helping to prevent HGV collisions. The modelling that was used to develop the Direct Vision Standard has since been adopted by the European Union, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and other international bodies, and minimum requirements for Direct Vision will be required for all new vehicle designs sold in Europe from 2026, and all new vehicles from 2029. Since the introduction of Transport for London's Direct Vision Standard HGV Safety Permit Scheme, London has seen a reduction in road fatalities of 60%, whilst the rest of the UK has only achieved a 12% reduction. The European Commission expects that the DVS HGV Safety Permit Scheme (a world first) , along with other safety measures being introduced, will save an estimated 25,0005 lives by 2038. #VisionZero #DVS #RoadSafety Viz-Ovalz® Direct Vizion System #CollisionPrevention, #SavingLives

Urgent Message for #Pedestrians #Cyclists and Other Road Users - 83% of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) fail to meet Transport for Londons' (TfL) 3*stars Direct Vision Standard, Why? - These vehicles have a restricted field of view that obscures You from the Drivers legally required visual field of view. (Driving with Tunnel Vision) Did you know that In the interests of your safety - "Drivers are legally required to have an uninterrupted horizontal visual field of at least 160 degrees with an extension of at least 70 degrees left and right and 30 degrees up and down. The Problem In 83% of the Trucks that are on our roads the Drivers can't see the #pedestrians #cyclists or #vulnerable road users, that are in close proximity and obscured by the pillar, mirror or vehicle body - Blind Spots, What action is being taken for your safety? In London from October 28, 2024, HGVs over 12T rated 0, 1 or 2 star will need to be fitted with the new Progressive Safe System recommended by Transport for London and apply for a permit before entering Greater London. Our Solution The revolutionary groundbreaking - retrofittable Viz-Ovalz® (Vision-Ovals) Viz-Ovalz® Direct Vizion System - Viz-Able, Safe, Seen Moving Off Information System (MOIS) R159. Blind Spot Sensor Information System (BSSIS) R151 Drivers feedback from prototype trials - #1 “at first I was sceptical, but after some adjusting I found them to be invaluable. They need to be treated as an early warning system , by this I mean when something pops up it makes you second look”. #2 “ I liked them, they work like sensors but without the distracting lights and alarms. #3 “These are great and work really well, they give you a quick glance that something is there so you naturally stop and look” #4 “ You can actually see something behind the pillars without having to move your body. Very good and simple” Interested in learning more about our Viz-Ovalz® Direct Vizion System, How it can reduce your risk of "Failed to See" collisions and making our roads safer for everyone? Operating a #HGV in London is unlike driving in any other part of the country since drivers face the city’s unique challenges and increasingly evolving changes to safety standards. However, with just four months until the changes to Direct Vision Standards (DVS) and the HGV Safety Permit Scheme kick in, our MD Paul Lawrence, spoke to Fleetpoint about why it’s crucial for drivers to comply to the changes in order to support improved visibility and road awareness.
