Let the demystification process begin ⬇️ @Lynne Durham 👈 let's connect Okay, rewind: Every industry has its lingo, and ours? No exception. One of the words that gets thrown around like confetti is “self-help”. Sounds familiar? You might nod and act like you totally get it, but deep down? It's part gibberish. No shame! 🔸 Definition: [apparently] Self-help is the use of one's own efforts and resources to achieve things without relying on others. 🔸 Application: This is how it plays out in real life: First, learn from a mentor, coach, or guide. Then, do the work. 🔸 Benefits: Here's why it's a game-changer: Once learned, tools can be used anywhere at any time. 🔸 Challenges: Yep, even self-help isn't without its quirks. Self-doubt and questioning kick in and put blockers in the way, destroying all the good progress. By now, you’re either thinking, “Well, duh!” or “Aha! That makes sense.” Either way, clarifying concepts sets a solid foundation, no matter how basic they seem. And hey, there's always someone out there needing a little clarity, right? Share this to your Stories and be that friend who offers some enlightenment today. Self-help? Definitely, taking time for rest and relaxation is a part of self-help. I'm doing it Hunter Valley style this week, yay! And, when you are ready for a deeper dive... I recently finished a DIY Relaxed & Ready Toolkit that I know will help you upgrade your self-help. DM me the word “READY“, and I’ll spill more truths your way. IT CAN MAKE PEOPLE FEEL HELPLESS & HOPELESS AT WORK. They don’t engage. Morale and mental health suffer. And sometimes – they even quit. I’m talking about the insidious nature of complexity – the stuff that keeps people from doing the work they were hired to do. It could be rules, or processes, or meetings, or emails, or something else. Bottom line – it’s crippling companies and the people who work there. Led by LISA BODELL, there’s a movement afoot to combat this and simplify. Lisa shows companies the benefits of simple: it improves innovation and company performance and also profoundly enhances people’s engagement, mental health, and retention. A win-win for the company and its people. But “What’s stopping you from simplifying?” Lisa asks. Check out what people say. Does it resonate with you? https://lnkd.in/eguN4G8C

How to NOT crash.... 🚦🚗 🏎 🚋 🚓 🚃 🎠 ⛔ I got called out on my "rush hour of life" post a few days ago: A good friend of mine told me - "Sarah, I really loved how this post started, and then suddenly there was this BUT....it made me stop reading. You didn't share your strategies or tips on how YOU resolve this!" This hit home for me - to be honest, at the time of the post I didn't really have any solutions.... 🤯 Yes, REALLY! Come time to reflect, I did these things over the past couple of weeks ⬇: 1. Small Steps Only: Breaking things down keeps the overwhelm at bay. > People who know me well also know how much I love ToDo lists - I have found this awesome "new" tool called Microsoft To Do which works magic for me! ✅ 2. Control the Controllables: Accepting what’s out of my hands lightens my mental load. > This is a game-changer - TRULY! This week, we had some workers in my house who cut a huge tree in my garden (although I had told them not to!). I was so, so mad - however, this is now beyond my control...no need to grow more grey hair! 🎮 3. Friends Keep Me Grounded: A chat with someone who gets it? Sometimes, it’s all I need. > I went for a 5km morning walk with some of my friends last week - we talked and we walked. We did again this morning! 🚶♀️ 4. Self-Care Isn’t Optional: “Me-time” matters. > Even if it’s 10 minutes with a cup of tea and some chocolate. 🍫 5. Celebrate Anything: Every little win counts! > I take time to notice and consciously celebrate with myself or others. 🎉 Thank you Dr. Jana Habson for caring and providing me with this feedback! ❤️ If YOU feel like sharing any more tips here, I would rally love to hear from you! Thank you. 🙏 Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday, Coach Sarah #stopandthink #selfawareness #selfcare #boundaries #celebratesmallwins #stepbystep
