There’s always a deeper reason underneath the surface. Oh, that campaign didn’t perform quite the way we wanted? Then it’s often a matter of how far we’re willing to drill down… Did we know enough about the audience? Were the channels clearly understood? Did we have the right messaging? Are we positioned properly? Is our team aligned? Leadership? Vision? We obviously can’t go so far that we resign ourselves entirely from our responsibility in the work. But we typically have to look beyond the execution of that campaign. Or that launch. Or that event or whatever. Here’s what it boils down to: Our team’s success depends largely on our willingness and ability to come together and at least go one layer beyond the surface to address something bigger than the immediate execution. In marketing, this is massive. And in life overall, it might be even bigger.

Here's the thing. Purpose is not a marketing tactic. Not an advertising stunt. It IS the way a brand, but more importantly the COMPANY, behaves from the INSIDE > OUT : the mission of the company, the founder(s) values, the make-up of C-Suite leadership team, the motivation of the employees, etc etc, THEN the product and/or service follows.
