Every project comes with unique challenges, and this one was no exception! As the civil engineer, we had the exciting task of tackling significant design constraints—specifically, how to manage substantial offsite regional stormwater flows that inundate the site in its existing condition, all while accommodating the developer’s vision. Our solution? A carefully designed stilling basin that collects offsite stormwater, allowing sediment to settle and reducing flow velocity before exiting the site. This approach helps prevent erosion and protects downstream storm facilities. JMC’s expertise in regional hydrology modeling and hydraulic design allowed us to develop a cost-effective solution that met both agency requirements and the developer’s needs. Proud to see this one come to life!
