3 weeks in and I still haven’t been able to get this one print done in a presentable way. Ankermake ( I used to call it MacBook of 3D printers but I take it back ) keeps failing and I don’t know how to hack into the Gcode to give me good overhangs . I did learn something though : keep using the same filament. Stop experimenting w different ones ( ankermake AI learn slow ) I hope to finish this before 2024! #3ddesign #3dprint #3dsculpting

From fabricator to printing nerd overnight! Shoutout to @Superfastmatt for perfectly capturing the evolution from the frustrations of early 3D printing to the incredible possibilities we have today. His video, with a hilarious nod to Office Space, highlights the love-hate relationship many of us had with early 3D printers—much like the office printers in the movie. They were necessary tools, but often unreliable and frustrating. With 3D printers, leaving only the most determined tinkerers and ‘printing nerds’ to stick with it. Matt’s journey is particularly interesting because he’s seen it all in the fabrication world. Like many, he stepped away from 3D printing when it felt more like a hassle than a help. But now, as he crafts custom parts for his race cars—both durable and functional—he’s rediscovering what modern 3D printing can truly offer. Advanced filaments are now creating metal parts to even replacing metal parts with infused polys that can do just as well, in Matt’s case enabling custom parts from electronic boxes for gauges-molds to be created at a fraction of the cost in his garage. It’s clear that this isn’t just a trend—it’s the future of fabrication. This is a story I hear often from manufacturers across the country from creators that haven’t adopted the technology yet. They’re curious but hesitant, aware that the technology is advancing but unsure how it fits into their workflow. Matt’s experience is a perfect example of how this technology is proving its worth. His journey should resonate with every fabricator, custom shop, and maker/machinist/engineer/tinkerer out there. You don’t have to be a 3D printing nerd to see its value—you just need to be ready to innovate. If you’re still asking whether 3D printing is worth it, let this video be your answer. The future is here, and it’s time to embrace it. As for me, I proudly embrace the title of ‘printing nerd.’ My team at Creative 3D Technologies and I are more than just enthusiasts—we’re innovators and business leaders with a vision of what one powerful machine can accomplish. And shoutout to Bambu Lab for setting the bar high with consumer-grade printers! I’ve got one of your machines at home right now, currently cranking out Titus the space marine from my sons’ Warhammer game—he is gunna love it! If you’re ready to step up from consumer-grade printers and need something with more muscle, check out Creative 3D Technologies. Our large-format FDM machine (with 11.8 cubic feet of build volume) is perfect for those looking to move beyond the consumer world into industrial-grade printing, without the massive price tag of high-end industrial machines. We’re your answer. A Desktop SLS Printer for $3000?🙀 To even *think* about getting into 3D SLS would be a $100,000+ conversation not too long ago💸 (I know what's on my Christmas list this year!🎄) #Micronics is doing something unique by taking a technology that makes arguably the best and most durable 3D printed parts #accessable and #opensource to everyone. The #disruption in the next 3-5 years in #additivemanufacuturing is making what was once industrial grade & cost prohibitively expensive available to the prosumer hobbyist market. I'm watching this one closely and incredibly impressed so far. Instagram: https://lnkd.in/esc9zPx9 Discord: https://lnkd.in/ePPXgHrb Youtube: https://lnkd.in/eBXpDsGf

If your school’s 3D printer is getting a lot of use, you need to remember to give it some regular TLC. I’ve seen many customers need to replace their printer nozzles too soon because they haven’t cleaned it out. Over time, your 3D printer will need replacement parts but if you take regular care of it, you can prevent the need for replacements as long as possible. If you do need any new parts, 123-3d.co.uk stocks plenty. #3DPrinting #3DPrinter #3dprintingtechnology

Should product developers work with cleaning SLS printed parts? Hint: They probably already do. And it's not the best use of their time. Using a smaller sized powder bed 3D printer in their department, product developers rely on a steady stream of great looking parts to push their projects forward. And manually blasting printed parts doesn't move the needle. Enter the CCP-10 from AM Efficiency - a game-changer in automated post-processing of powder bed printed parts. Using the CCP-10, you can automate cleaning, coloring, and polishing of your desktop powder bed prints, leaving you free to focus on what you do best - designing and innovating. Get ready to say goodbye to: ❌ Grueling manual labor ❌ Inconsistent results ❌ Messy, cluttered workspace And say hello to: ✔ More time for higher-value tasks ✔ Flawless, professional-grade finishes every time ✔ Tidier workspace ✔ BONUS: Most of our customers see a 3 month ROI Ready to automate your cleaning and post-processing? Just in case it's helpful, I know lots of people who swear by Bambu Lab X1 Carbon 3D printers. While I print on a really cheap Ender3, I think there are some clear benefits to quality and repeatability in enclosed FDM printers. Also, look forward to seeing the result, as-is, it's already stunning :)
